i am a noob and was wondering if since jt is a "spyder clone" then will a spyder upgraded spring and shim work in my jt 3.5?

I'm pretty sure it will. It'd make no sense if it didn't since like you said it's a spyder clone.

Jt 3.5's use a different striker than a modern spyder (much fatter). They are similar to the really old spyders of 5+ years ago.

Make your own shims out of 3/8" round stock.make several pieces different lengths starting at about a little over 1/16 of a inch up to a 1/2 inch piece.I made mine for my spyder out of nylon.They work,there was a guy whou had a imagine for his sone at where we were playing and he could not get the velocity over 190.I put my longest shim in and tinkered with the velocity adjsuter and we got firing at 294.Sad part was when I pulled the strker plug to install the shim there was pink paint all over the spring.The gun had never been cleaned.I told we he got home that it needed to be cleaned and oiled.Even sader is that he owned a brand new angel and has never cleaned or oiled it.LOL
