air in feedneck?
My dad has a spyder Xtra and when it fires it has air that comes up through the feedneck and spits paintballs up into the hopper causing breaks in my hopper. Could anyone please tell why that is and how to fix it?
Thanks

i dont see how this is possible the bolt pushes the ball past the feedneck right? so its not blowing them back up in there, your just having chops and your velocity is to high or you outshooting the hopper, or bad paint

no the paintballs in the feedneck shoot back up into the hopper and cause balls to break in the hopper

i dont see how this is possible you said you got a new bolt , did it make a differnece?, switch them out and in again and see. Still the air pushes behind the ball thats past the feedneck so i dont see how it does, can you see it happeneing or just experiencing brakes?

well i was experiencing breaks so i took off my hopper and put one in the chamber and one in the feedneck and when i fired the one in the chamber fired and the one in the feedneck blew up into the air.

yeah i figured that might be the problem did you get the right bolt, if that gun is electric, you probably are outshooting that hopper look in to a revolution hopper for around 45 bucks

Air going into your feedneck can be stopped easily (as you saw by switching bolts).
When buying bolts, make sure it has a good fit in the chamber. Blow back will be caused by air leaking past by the bolt. O-rings is a perfect way to prevent this.
Look into the blue bolt by acp products. But the bolt should really be one of the last things you upgrade in my opinion. The stock bolt can be modded to preform just as well as most after market bolts.

ya the reason i got the ACS bolt was because i was getting chops and double feeds, when that didnt fix it i read some more and found out that my ball stopper was gone so i got a new one. I left the ACS bolt in there for good measure and then the problem above was happening so then i cam here. NOW IT FIXED YAY

The back of the feedneck being a good area, so that it won't fill with sludge as easy if it takes a hit.
I noticed horrid blow back with an ACS bolt as well. I imagine it could be cut for O-rings with a lathe.
