New Spyder Line....
what do you guys think of the new Spyders? i think it was a good move on Kingman's part. not my style, but they are going to sell alot of them.

well basically all paintball guns shoot the same... a paintball drops in and gets fired out of the barrel, some just do it faster (and more complicated) than others... the point is that alot of people buy things for looks, and this looks different than "most" others out there.

spyders are excellent guns, just b/c you have found a niche in a diff type of gun doesnt mean that spyders are junk and I bet these new guns are just as good as tippmans. And as far as kingman goes know one disses the raven series....... Lets see whats better an ION or shocker the same company just diff grades the same applies here. The spyder is a good begginer gun to intermediate. If you want an ION well blankly points to all the raven cost's just as much as an ION shoot comparably but alot prefer the ION. Part looks part gun. Well I prefer the raven not b/c it shoots, it is good, better than good great, but b/c I like how it looks. It is sleak, metal polished and such. Spyders are good guns, prob is most are semi. In speed ball this sucks. Everone says well you have to upgrade it. The ION is upgraded but cost more. But you know what for as much maybe a little more a spyder can be upgrade to a comparable leve..... as far as the guns in this thread are concerned they look cool and I hope they can meet the expectations of what they are up against.

Except for the fact that the Ion is one gun. The shocker, Imp, and Nerve all shoot different than the Ion. Shutters, Pilots, xtras, compacts, AMG's, etc etc all shoot the same. Not to mention the Ion is like 40952095 times better than a spyder.
By the way, I never said I liked the sp8...

Okay...
No paintball gun shoots the same way as another one. A spyder cannot be considered "high end", no matter what upgrades you put on it. It is a blowback gun, plain and smiple. It cannot compare to a shocker/ion/PM/etc... An electro-pnuematic gun will ALWAYS be better than a blowback. What separates them is how they work, not speed. Can a spyder shoot 30 bps? Yes. Can an Ego shoot 30 bps? Yes. Which is better? The ego, because it shoots more smoothly, has better efficiency, and has better consistency. The spyder is capable of shooting 30 bps (with some mods), but will have massive kickback, be loud as all hell, chop like no other, and will be horribly inconsistent. In the end, it just comes down to how much you want to spend on a gun. As far as I'm concerned, if you like your Spyder/Raven/Pirahna then fine by me, but if you try to say that it is better than something like my NME just because they can shoot the same speed, then we have a problem.

Anyway...I think that those new Spyders are ugly as sin. They may appeal to a select group of people, but it will be very small. Had they worked on the asethetics a little bit, then it wouldn't be so bad. It will perform the same as any other Spyder.

as a senario player im kind of happy seeing more mainstream manufactuers getting on the senario boat. Now guys who want a more "mil-sim" look dont have to spend 500+ bucks on an armotech or akarion style gun. i know, they are still spyders underneath, but its a step in the right direction from my point of view.
that being said, these are ugly as sin, especially the MR1. but maybe they'll get better in the future.

EVERY paintball gun "SHOOTS" the same way... a ball drops in and gets forced out by compressed air or co2...
NOW as far as how a gun "FUNCTIONS" to reach that point when the air is released to force the paintball out of the barrel, yes they vary considerably... some are better, faster, smoother and more complicated than others...
