Spyder Xtra for woodsball???
I am getting my first marker and I am trying to decide between a Tippman 98 or a Spyder Xtra. I plan on playing mostly woodsball and my concern with the Xtra is the chrome barrel and the bright blue stock.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad

Go with the Spyder, there are alot more mods you can do to the Spyder. For the barrel, you can get any color aftermarket barrels... Smart Parts, Dye ect.... Being blue should be much of a problem...I have a chrome Fenix... now thats a problem in the woods!!!

you mean your concern is how bright your marker is?
i dont even take this into consideration bc i am large enough guy that they will spot me way before they spot my marker bc of its colour. i never find myself in a situation where they wouldnt have spotted me if my marker was a diff colour. imo, just go for the marker you want.

yeah but tippys rock, i have a tippmann 98c and a spyder, i like the spyder for speedball and the tippmann for woodsball, its much more unbreakable and it just rocks, go for the tippmann theres plenty of mods you can do to it also. It can take alot of mods, is cheap, unbreakable and a nice gun

Thanks...
Thanks Everyone, I am still undecided but I think cost is going to make the decision for me. At least I have heard good things about the Extra so that makes me feel better.

Just look at it this way... If you're good, you won't need to hide
Edit: If it turns into a problem, just cover every inch of it in camo duct tape

dude if you are gonna play woodsball primaraly go with the 98c it is good price and wont break, i have the response trigger which is a great mod for the 98c and i even go speed balling sometimes with it, it aint the best gun for speedballing, but you know what they say it is not the gun but the baller. so if you want the reliabilitie and ease go with the tippman and buy upgrades.

The Spyder Extra is pretty much the best semi auto spyder for woods ball. I would go with that, unless you really like tippys.

Don't listen to pbreview.
A spyder will be a better gun for speedball and just as good for woodsball. Tippmanns are good for woodsball, but not the best for speedball.

your playing woods ball so it would be best to go with the tippy 98c. they're much better in the woods.

i used to have a 98 custom and loved it as a first gun. Very simple to dissasemble and clean but the stock barrels suck. i think someone mentioned the J&J ceramic barrel which u can get 4 under $50. so id go with that. im a big guy (235 pounds) and was runnin through the woods once and fell on it and nothin happend to it. kept workin like a champ. lol. thats a tippy 4 ya. but if u wanna play speedball go with a spyder but keep in mind u can upgrade a tippy more, hence the name 98 CUSTOM.
as far as the camo duct tape goes yeah, u can get it and it works pretty well. i think my friends get it at Sports Authority and we have one here in Alaska so im sure u do too then. works well on guns, hoppers, tanks, barrels, etc.

I have a rodeo (basically a little better Xtra) and it is a great gun and I am not outgunned by the tippys my friends use. The xtra is a great all around gun, besides strafing is not really something you do in woodsbal very much so a high BPS isnt not neccesary......
