no, that screw should not back out. did you lose the lock washer on it? if so, buy a new one. If the threads are stripped out, youll need a new front block.
ALL spyders can run off co2 safely, its a low end gun for low end air YAY!!!

you can buy a new lock washer at any hardware store. It looks like a washer with teeth. It keeps the screw from backing out or loosening up. the block isnt crossthreaded tho is it?

LOL! Just goto your local hardware store. Ace is really good where I live. Ask them for a lock washer to fit over the bolt/screw that you bring with you to show them. They will hook ya up.

The lock washer belongs under the head of the screw to keep it from turning back out. You'll get it working right!

Omg, there is such noobishness in this thread. Let me straighten you out:
First off- That screw with no head is the set screw for your velocity adjuster. Know why it's called that? You turn it to adjust your velocity. The little screw just locks it in place for you.
That's not your volumizer on the back of the gun. Your volumizer is the part that sticks out under the barrel.
If your field doesn't require that it be in, I suggest you take the little set screw out and keep it in a plastic bag somewhere in your gearbag for safe keeping.

It keeps you from being able to turn up your velocity in the middle of a game.
Mine fell out a billion times, so i just messed with main springs and pressures till I could have the adjuster screwed all the way in and still fire 280.

I wouldnt recommend it, unless you can keep the adjuster screwed all the way in or out and be at a safe velocity. It is easy to bump the adjuster and have it go up.
