Some questions bout my Spyder.
Being a newbie I guess you could say, seeing as I'm just getting into paintball, my friend has decided to give me a good deal, (at least I think its a good), hes going to sell me his old backup Spyder Electra DX, with a 16 oz. co2, the extreme rage overdrive hopper, and basically everything that it came with as a package when he bought it, instructions, manual, spare parts.. ect, and everything else is stock, for just 60$ canadian.
Well my question was,
Is the Extreme Rage Overdrive Hopper and good?
By the way, from what I have read on some reviews, they say its pretty good for its price. Its electronic, 9+ bps.. By the way, I've tried my friends PMR and I seem to shoot pretty fast. Although I dont think I'd need anything that feeds more. And all in all, I'm basically new, and just learning, so thats another reason not to upgrade until later when I actually discover if I'm faster than what the hopper can feed, or if I'm a bit slower, than I know not to upgrade.
So seeing as he directed me to this site to possibly learn about stuff, I thought, " hey, maybe I should ask about the stuff hes selling me "
And basically I'm pretty much new to this forum, and paintball itself.
So any tips on what I could possibly upgrade? I'm thinking a barrel for sure, and maybe sticky grips. I seriously dislike those clear plastic ones.. So, any advice?
Things I have been told to get:
- Barrel (recommended the j&j performance barrel)
- Feedneck (recommended the shocktech feedneck)

that pmr is gonna feel ALOT different and the trigger is alot easier to walk. the spyder trigger will be alto stiffer. just get that, get to know the sport, thne buy an ion and you will be set.

My brother has a ION.. basically nothing on the gun is stock.
Well except for the feedneck I think..
Hes got a virtue in there too..
Freak 2 piece..
And yeah, instead of buying a new one, I can buy his, cause hes gonna be selling it.. and if I gather up the cash, I can buy his.. Maybe he wont be a fruit and he can give me a discount
But as of now, Im gonna stick with the spyder for a bit.
So what upgrades should I get that aren't useless?

Any feedneck or barrel that you have in mind?
I wasn't really thinking of going all out and spending hundreds on a spyder. o.o
Something decent, with a decent price tag

j&j performance barrel, and a shocktech feedneck. both about 30 bucks each. and there is no possible way to spend hundreds on a spyder, well there is but you would really be trying to hard.

It was sarcasm..
And I'll be sure to check those items and ask the people at my nearest paintball store for their opinions.

because you will be using that gun for a short period of time before you outgrow it and want a new one, thus making getting grips for it highly irrelevant and just a waste of money. just get slight upgrades to help the performance of the gun.

Hmm.. I see what you mean.
Although he doesn't finish his thought, so I'm left clueless..
Anyways, I'll probably buy a feedneck and barrel.
How about a new trigger?
