is it ok for me to use a normal 9 volt battery and not the supplied rechargeable battery for my electronic marker? i know the manual says not to use normal 9 volt batterys. I have a spyder VS1 (no one seems to have it for some reason.. any1 know why?)

you will be fine using a normal none recharagable.

however if you can get one and the vs1 has a power cord to charge the battery then it will be a beter use of your money in the long run.

if not then you can get a small wall charger for a 9v and a rechargable 9v. It will be a beter investment then buying a 9v all the time.

when i first started playing and i had a spyder i went to the field and forgot to charge my gun, so it died on me and i bought a 9v and it only lasted me a few games, maybe i was just doing somthing worng but in the past spyders have really used alot of battery life. I would go with rechargable if i were you.

The best is to use the rechargable battery on the day, and keep an alcaline 9v on backup. So if you run out of energy, you'll be able to continue without charging again...

I have a Spyder E99 Avant, and it uses a 9.6 volt NI-MH rechargeable battery, and I tried to replace that with a BRAND NEW Duracell Coppertop 9 volt, and it wouldn't work. It would randomly not shoot when I pulled the trigger. EX: Had to pull it three times for it to fire once, then three more dead clicks with one shot after, and so on and so forth. Needless to say, always use the specified battery type in electronic markers. You can do massive board damage if you don't.

Careful about normal "9 volt rechargeable" batteries. Some of them are only 7.something volts and won't be that useful.

The one that came with the gun works great, its a true 9-volt rechargeable. Normal non-rechargeable batteries work most of the time, sometimes not so well.
