Can't decide.....

I bought a 2007 Xtra TS tactical sniper which includes a VS barrel to make it 14". I would really like to add a regulator to it but don't know how? I'm thinking of returning it to get a new Rodeo. I know the Rodeo is electronic but can't you switch it to mechanical? Should I keep the 2007 Xtra even though it has that crappy "open bolt" design??? Happy Thanksgiving to all the paintballers !!!!!

You don't really need a reg, all it's gonna do for you is make your gun heavier. It isn't electronic so you won't be ripping and need a consistent flow of air or anything.

And no, keep the Xtra is you want mech, and, open bolt isn't crappy at all, in fact, it makes your life a lot easier.

I don't think I have heard anyone thinking of converting an electro to a mech except for Stock Class. All Spyders are open bolts which makes them great for beginners and old timers alike, simplicity is nice. I've been using Spyders for years and still love them. If you want upgrades for you Xtra look at a J&J barrel, clamping feed neck and a hopper. You can use the hopper with future guns so don't skimp.

What do you know about the Rodeo's ??? Is it worth keeping the 2007 Xtra ???? This "TS" kit came from Dick's Sporting Goods and was $169.99. It comes with a 2 piece VS barrel which from what I understand is actually an upgrade barrel.

The Rodeo at Dick's is a discontinued marker. The Xtra is a better marker in want to stay mechanical. The '07 Xtra is top cocking with a Delrin Bolt so it has less kick and can be modded very easily to Low Pressure. I saw a kit at the local Dicks that I think you are looking at. It is not a two piece barrel but two different barrels. As far as them having VS barrels... VS use a different thread pattern if memory serves. It may be a VS style but I would trust a J&J or SP progressive over a stock VS barrel. Stick with the Xtra and buy paint for a while. It's low maintenance and you already have it.

Yeah.....I kinda already knew I'd be better off with a new gun but I like the looks of the Rodeo....But woodsball is pretty much all me & my son play and the Rodeo is pretty shiny......the Xtra is all black with blue accents......does anyone make a 14" barrel threaded for the Spyders? Seems like there is alot of sniping involved with our games.......I did see a regulator kit on ePay for $30. Anyone know if this will fit the 2007 Spyders????

dude, ok, we know you like the Fenix ACS, but now it's just becomming annoying.

The Xtra won't let you down. Very simple, nothing much that can go wrong. Take good care of it and it will do the same to you.
