Rodeo minor problem

I bought a rodeo many years ago and have upgraded it bit by bit. I have the electronic frame on it with anti-chop bolt. also, an expansion chamber. The problem is that sometimes when I pull the trigger once, the gun fires twice really fast, extremely fast and chops a ball anyway. I have an empire electronic hopper that's rated at 12 or 13 bps. this problem happens on all settings, semi, full, 3rnd burst, and 6rnd burst, (< even at 6bps). I use CO2 with this gun. I have a spring and shim kit and it's got the lowest springs and shims in there, and it helped the problem, but didn't completely solve it. Anyone have any ideas why I am having this problem? Any more info you need about my gun I will be glad to tell you.

Thanks,

Sounds like trigger bounce. put your trigger a little farther away from the micro switch and see if that helps at all.

yeah, I let my friend play with it a while back and somehow he got hit directly in the trigger while he didn't have his hand on it. (which to this day I don't understand why you would take your hand off the trigger while in gameplay against someone, but ohwell.) I tried to clean it up the best I could though there is still a little paint residue on the contact area. Well thanks guys for the fast and intelligent response!!

(We don't have a cheers smiley so I'll drink yours for ya!)

He could have been reaching back for a reload/reloading while shooting.
