Spyder Electra 05 Gun Problem

Hey guys im new to this forum so whats up. But, more importantly, i have a pretty big problem with my electra. For most guns you normally just have to cock your gun back once and shoot. The CO2 should cock the bolt back again automatically. My gun isn't doing that anymore. It's been about a month since i last played and something must have happened because it wont cock back again after i shoot once. My tank has air (tested on other gun, i cant hear a leak, and everything else seems to be in working order except for the bolt cocking back. Please help, I am going paintballing in just a couple days.

There could be a number of issues. First, check the pressure on the regulator, if it has one, increasing it might solve your problem. If not, try lubicating the parts on your marker (except the bolt if it's delrin, bad idea to oil a delrin bolt). First try few drops of oil in the ASA and then shoot a couple of times. Then try to put a drop of oil on the striker and shoot. If that doesn't help, check the striker o-ring, a defective o-ring will let air through the sides of the striker and thus it won't cock back. If that doesn't help, then check the springs, try to replace them if you can. For that you'll need a spring kit.

thanks. i am still kind of inexperienced when it comes to taking apart my gun, so i have a decision. Should i take it apart and try to fix it now (by the way what type of oil should i use) or should i wait until i go paintballing and ask the pro's over at Pev's Paintball Park?

Asking someone who is experienced always helps, but taking the electra apart, well spyders in general, isn't very hard at all.
Some dude on youtube uploaded a crazy amount of support videos for spyder markers. This is the video that will demonstrate how to take it apart. YouTube - Basic Teardown

Don't fret if that's not the electra, all spyders are the same inside, they just have different looks and accessories to them.

Sometimes, after a while Spyders will just stop recocking, or have trouble recocking, just because they get old (or so I hear).

There are numerous mods that can remidy this problem.
