i just got a used spyder pilot acs. it did not come with a battery. i will be getting one but i will have to order it, so what im wondering is can any nine volt battery be used? i was thinking about getting a rechargable energizer that i could also use for back up. will this work ok? will it be hard on the board because of the lower voltage?

A regular 9V will work, but it wont last very long.

No, you can't. They doesn't give enough power to make the marker fire. And when they work, they don't last for very long, and can get hot. Plus the warranty is void if you use one. Just wait for your 9.6V battery. I've seen some fried board because of it, will you risk it just to have some fun at house ? I wouldn't personnally.

Ahh.. I didn't think about it that way. I test fired my Imagine with a regular 9V and it worked fine, but I won't be doing that anymore. I don't want to buy a new board..
