it is not really needed, i have nitro and i dont need one, the only reason you mght need one is if you were running lp and then it could store some extra air if your marker was starved, but you really dont need t, just a waste of money

Yah, the low pressure chamber doesnt have any affect on performance on spyders. They are made for higher end guns that run at super low pressures as a reserve to help eliminate shootdown, but are mainly decoration on spyders.

Aftermarket LPC's are a waste of money. The only way I would every buy an aftermarket LPC is if I was making my Spyder closed-bolt.

An autococker is closed bolt. When you pull the trigger, the bolt is already forward with a ball in the chamber, then it fires, pulls the bolt back to let in another ball, and closes again.

Spyders are open bolt because the bolt stays out, then you fire and it pushes the ball into postion quickly before firing it, then recocks and starts over.

Thank you sick for that explanation. I couldn't figure out what was the difference between open and closed bolt until I read your post.

Any threads on this modification? I'm interested to see how it works in making this conversion.

closed bolt function

so the basic idea is to have air behind the bolt to push it closed and in front of the bolt to push it open? being controled by the ram? On that page, what all did he have hooked up to the back block? And wouldn't air escape thru the cocking nob slot on the Spyder Compact?
thanks for the help.
Just trying to understand this
