tl-x
Hey everyone im new to paintball, i rodered a spyder tlx oline cause i eard it was a pretty decent gun. The only problem is the owners manual is terrible and i cant seem to find the velocity adjuster. I know there is one cause it says write on the box " tournament velocity adjuster" If anyone could help me out where it is i would really really apreciate it. Thanks so much. ( sry this is kinda a dumb question cause im a newb and i dont know much about the sport but that it looks real fun)

on the back of the gun you will see a knob, that is the velocity adjuster, turn it right to make your fps go up and left to make it go down

Turning it in, or to the right, will increase your velocity.
Turning it out, to the left, will lower the velocity.
If the little hex screw stops you from turning it anymore, you can adjust it as you need using a hex key.

after incresing the velocity, the paintballs get more precis
and when i shoot someone, the 'aiiiiiiiiiye' is more pleasant
but i don't think i can use my gun on the max speed. Someone tells me that the gun may be more fragile

be careful if u shoot to fast (over 300fps) its A)dangerous and b)will worsen accuaracy.
U guys should check out the spyder videos on kingman.com, under media i think. They are very useful and help u understand the gun.

when u increase your velocity the paintballs dont get more presice........they just break paint more. Anything above 300fps is useless, all youll end up doin is blending paint and hurting someone.

Really ?
You're right : they break paint more
So it was just an feeling !!
The fact is i search only to shoot someone at 30 - 50 meters
But I think the velocity is important for something : precision or coverage ?
If it is'nt precision, is it coverage ?
okay guys
thx for advising
my objective is'nt to hurt a player, but to eliminate him and WIN

when you increase your velocity, you wont be getting that much more distance, not enough to even matter if your shootin at a guy 200 yards away. Its ok, it would make sense to think that the hhigher the velocity, the straighter the shot, but thats not the case most of the time

Ok
so why there is a velocity control before any tournament
what is the real advantage ??
Do you think it's just a question of safety ??

yes..it is mainly a question of safety. If you have your gun set hot and you hit someone with a nasty temper, expect to get shot up pretty bad.
There isnt an "advantage" to having your gun set above 300fps, it will break your balls and you will lose accuracy, big time. It could possibly increase your distance but youw ill be lucky if you can even get paint outta the barrel without it breaking. If you do happen to shoot without a break there is no way you are gonna be able to hit what you are aiming at. I see it like throwing a paper airplane, you need just the right amount of force behind it for it to fly straight and far. Throw it as hard as you can and the paper just folds and it doesnt even fly. Dont throw it hard enough and it just falls to the ground.
If you want a real "advantage" for distance and accuracy your best bet is to get a perfect paint-to-barrel match or spend some money and get yourself a nice barrel or maybe even a barrel kit.
For your sake and everyone elses just follow the rules and put your marker at or below 300fps.
