Fully Custom Spyder
OK guys, I'm selling/trading my Angel(because I'm broke) and I'm thinking about building a custom Spyder next. So I thought"What the hell", and I'm going to get some imput from you guys. Note to all; this is not my first gun, nor my first custom Spyder, so I don't need any "how-tos", just some new ideas for what body to use, what trigger, bolt, board, etc. I might even throw out a poll or two for some of it. I just need something paintball related to work on because I don't get much time to play now. So, let the ideas flow freely.

The XSF mod is overpriced. I'd do a T-board or an IS board before that. Either is nearly half the price with most all of the same componets.

Yea basically, its just that the XSF comes with aluminum eye covers and full auto. To me thats not worth what their asking but either way its still a nice upgrade.

Both other boards include breakbeam eyes. And I think the eye covers that come with the XSF mod look cheap. I'd rather have some custom milled or use timmy eye covers. WHat kind of body do you guys think I should use? I can get a Fireball Mountain body (they've got 3 styles) and start from scratch, or buy an E-Spyder and upgrade it, so I need to figure out which way to go so I can start this proscess. Personally I'm torn because some of Kingman's new bodys are great looking, but no one has the FBM bodys so it would be unique. And there is always the option of getting something very stock looking and turning it into a hidden threat on the field. You know like upgrading an Imagine til it can shoot 30 bps and dead accurate, then listen to all the tourney guys at my field say" Who lit me up, the only guy over there is the dude with the crappy spyder?" That is very, very tempting, but only because I love making people doubt their manhood

I like the Rayzor milled body, the teardrop is nice but I dont like the raw aluminum showing. Ive seen a few gothics that look alright but the Rayzor is the best looking IMO and orange would look sweet.

ORANGE?!?! Dude, where am I going to find parts to match? Oh, wait, just saw the car in your sig, guess you gotta an orange fetish or something...lol. Seriously, I'd probably do gloss black or a carbon grey, possibly a fade of the two, if I get a custom body.

So it sounds like everyone at least agrees that the custom body/anodizing is a must have, right? Kirky, you're right, the rayzor body is bada$s. Think what I'll do is buy cheap E-spder to start with, get everything together and then get the body. Two reasons; A-the body will be costly, and B-I can have them mill the eye holes, tap it for eye covers and mill it to be topcocking, which will be even more money. NOw we move on to internals-i.e. valve, striker, and bolt. I'm thinking the Apocolypse Products magnum striker, if they ever get it finished, but I'm not sure on the bolt and valve.

Maddman rocket valve or the AKA Tornado, APM nylatron bolt or shocktech and it would be nice to put in the ACP striker (like you said if they get done).

Are the AKA and Maddman really worth it? I mean I've used Taso's and 32 degrees' valves before and got very good results. And I can get a 32 for like $15 locally, so I'd have to hear some awesome performance reviews on the AKA, which is like $50-60 or the maddman, which is like $40-50, both of which I'll have to order. And as far as bolts, I'm not really liking the Shocktech. I'm thinking more like a top cocking bolt for the final product. Timmy bolts fit Spyders, don't they?

Unless you're getting the reg first. You shouldn't get the maddman valve since it's pressure sensitive at 500psi

-T Board
-Tiger Shark bolt
-What ever valve (I use Tasos because I get them free; they work well)
-Titanium striker (or wait for the Magnum AP[if it ever comes out])
-If you can find on, the CiP thing that lets you use Imp feednecks (paintballgateway only has silver)
-If you are on a tight budget, J&J Ceramic, if not, Freak/Stiffi/ect
-Slasher trigger
-Budget reg: CiP Powerstation (same as a Bob Long Torp, just cheaper)
-Expensive reg: I'd like to hear a review on the Liter 2 (2 liter?) from AKA
-68/4500 tank
-Drop/Unimount/whatev
-Get some custom milling and an anno you like
As you may have noticed, I wasn't really specific on a few things. I did this to give you a choice. That way, you are building your own gun, and not one that was compiled from a bunch of people you don't know. Heh.

I've used CiP stuff before, always liked their stuff (still have a Sweet Spot trigger sitting around) so I might try their reg. Final product might get Evil Detonator reg. It not only looks good, but everyone that had used one has said it is unbelievably consistant. And I've already got a Dye Excel sitting around for a budget barrel. Final barrel might be a Stiffi, either that or an Evil Driver or Pipe kit. And if I use a FBM body, it accepts Angel feednecks and cocker detents(I believe), but if I use a stock body to start then I'll use New Designz new feedneck. And for the Tigershark bolt, I'm not sure about those yet. Anyone here use one yet?

get a spider victor with a halo b, dragun the one trigger, nitro and a boomstick. Could you imagine a victor 1 fireing at 20+bps and capable of holding its own with an autococker. that would be hillarious
