first post...got a problem

Sorry to make my first post a question about my gun..anyways, my spyder compact won't stay cocked. I put the co2 tank on, cock it back, and when i pull the trigger it sounds like it's firing 2 or 3 times, then i have to cock it again..any suggestions?

Fill your tank.
Take apart your gun, lube it, and re-assemble it.

if that still doesn't work, take it to a local shop.

haha spence...

Take apart your spyder, and replace the oring on the hammer/striker (should be the black thing on the front of teh spring that the bolt is connected to) and relube all the orings. Should work after that.

You're either out of air, or one of your O-rigns is broken. Push the field strip pin and check the bolt and the hammer. The bolt is long and is attached to the cocking rod directly. The O-rings on teh bolt should look clear. Teh Striker is the metal thingy. Check to make sure that is BLACK.

Look at your CO2 tank. Is there an O-ring on it, or is the O-ring soiled or white? It should be clear. Replace.

Check your valve.. If oyu have a bottomline, unscrew it from the bottom of the trigger frame. Then, take the whole bottomline off by unscrewing it from the place under where you'd put the barrel. There is an O-ring on the bottomline you removed. check to see if its soiled. IF you have a foregrip there is an O-ring on teh forgrip. Check it. Should be clear.

Flip your gun upside down and unscrew the front screw holding the asa (the thingy where you removed the bottomline or foregrip.) There are two O-rings here. The one closest tothe front of the marker should be black, adn the one closer to the back should be clear. Check em.

On the front of the asa that you removed, there is another small cylinder screwed in. Untwist it with your fingers, and check the two O-rings there. Thsi is where it differs from marker to marker. There might only be one there. Mine has two. If it has two, chances are once should be black and the other clear. Check em.

Unscrew your trigger frame and onthe underside of the marker, there is a brass screw. Unscrew it. Take a pencil, and push it through the back of the marker, eraser end first. The valve will ceom out the front. There should be an O-rign on it. check it.

IT could be your cup seal too. Thats the small thing that had a spring on it that was inside your asa. It should have come out when you removed it. Check the plastic part for dents, and the metal tip for deformities.

You should do the above after every 2 or 3 games. This is the equivalent to getting your cars oil chnged after every 50 miles. It does wonders and will keep your marker in tip top shape. After you check all of your O-rings, take a drop of marker oil (I use Hoppes No 9 gun oil) and put one drop on each of your O-rings. Then assemble your gun, and put a few more drops in your ASA. Shoot your marker about 10-20 times, with our without paint. Wihtout is best because you won't risk breaking any in your marker.

Any ?'s IM me at The NightHawk x. I'm always interesting in helping out a fellow newbie.

Heh. Well yeah, O-rings, or a cup seal. Thats the best I can give you. But before you go tinkering, just put a few dropsof oil in your ASA, adn try firing 5 or 6 times wihtout paint. See if that helps.
