Spyder to timmy conversion
ok this is stickied at pbn but no one ever listens to me there and they flame me so much.
ok after reading it I have found all the parts and the cost
Ram 18$
Ram Sleeve 45$
Ram Cap 20$ (haven't found)
6 barbs 25$
Cocker Hose 5$
Timmy Lpr 50$ (haven't found)
Poppit 30$ (haven't found)
Cupseal 5$ (haven't found)
Solenoid 60$
Entropy chaos board 95$
Trigger Frame 150$
Inline reg 60$
total of 558$ for everything new
My parents don't use e-bay and won't buy from other people over the internet so I can't get anything used. so are there any other cheaper things I could get new from a online store?
also if anyone knows how this would compare to the one kit
and if this will fit my victor II

you can buy used classics timmys for around 500, but it would be really cool to to a spyder-timmy conversion

Ya a conversion is so cool. You walk onto the feild and start asking how to cock the gun and doing newb stuff, and saying "i just got this spyder aren't they the best gun" or "i hope i don't get bunkered (then whisper "whatever that is" for a friend)". Or stuff like that, then you just rip the crap out of everyone! I mean the feild will be all yellow man. B/c everyone will have wet themselves when you throw out a line of paint and touch everyone.
Sry i got no idea where to find parts for cheap

Classic timmy is better, because thats essentially what your building, however you would have to modify the body a bit among other things. Cost wise, if you look around it should be about $300 for the parts if your lucky (check forums). However, all your doing is buying timmy parts and slapping them on a spyder body. It would be better just to get the timmy instead. The one kit is alright, but for $50 more you could just get the one. What I did was I bought a Spyder body for $20, a 1 piece AA barrel for $34, a spudnukl bolt for $20, and the one kit for $170.
Its decent, a spyder timmy would be better, but then again, it would be a timmy with a spyder body, not much point to it.

wow, that kid who flamed you doesn't understand that the gun you will have when done will be able to compete with every tourney gun out there. while his 1337 imagine will still be a sear tripping high end wanna-be.
as for comparisson to the one kit, it will kick the **** out of it, so do this conversion or buy a timmy instead. used gz's go for around 6-700. and you won't find parts cheaper than that if you can't buy used mate.
i was considering doing this conversion myself, but owning and operating a real timmy was just much more appealing. and i only spend 650 on a gz, tank, and a hopper so i didn't spend too much anyway. i'd go with a used real timmy, or do this if you can't buy used.

No, just get a used one. Its much cheaper. You will need to have a machinist modify the body a bit I believe.

I hear the conversion is more of a tinker thing. If its really something you wanna do then go for it. Its also really cool to do this instead of buying a new back up gun which would cost about the same. I saw a video of a timmyspyder and they aren't slow by any means. Not wannabe either i thought, its just different.:-) I say go for it if you really wanna

I suggest just buying a used Timmy and using the parts from that. That way, when you don't feel like using your Spyder anymore, you will also have the Timmy body, feeedneck, etc. Just transfer the guts, and you have yourself a Timmy.

guys, you obviously familiar with this conversion. you don't really have to do any modifying besides drilling holes and cutting out the top of you marker. anyone with a drill and a dremel could do the body work in under 15 minutes. it's actually very easy, and, no, used timmys aren't cheaper, just better to have the real thing.

ah, i just realized one error with your parts list. get an LCD frame so you can buy the frenzy board. if you don't want to go that route, buy an LED and get a WAS board.
