Question Spyder problem

My friend has a mech. spyder, and the other day we were playin rec ball out in the woods. We'd just finished a game, and he decided to see how fast he could shoot it . He shot pretty fast, but the bolt suddenly froze up. not like frozen from CO2, it just stopped moving. we disassembled the marker, and a piece of shell was jamming the bolt. Cleaned the whole thing out, put it back together, and gassed it up. When he tried firing it, the marker made a "burping" sound, like when a marker's low on air. except this was much more forceful. We tried his tank on a friend's gun, and the tank was fine. He can't get his marker to work again, so does anybody know what could be wrong with it? I'm thinking some kind of seal was messed up, but I don't have a spyder, so I don't know much about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated! He can't play anymore 'till his gun is fixed...

Check your o-rings on the striker as well as any that might be on the bolt. Chances are there is a flaw in the striker o-ring. If you replace them or just oil them up it should fix the problem.

check the o-ring on his striker,(thing connected to bolt) and check the orings on the bolt, he might need a new striker o ring.... if after you've checked the orings and replaced them, I'd check the cupseal. I'm sure this is in the most common problems of the spyder thread so I would look there also.

It sounds like someone put the striker buffer in front of the striker instead of behind it around the spring.

I can help you guys out. My Compact 2k did the same thing after i did the trigger spring mod. I was able to shoot faster than my hopper could feed, so i got a revvy. That helped but once in a while it still chopped.

1. Make sure your ball detent is doing its job. not double feeding balls (mine was wore out)

2. Polishing your internals can help eliminate ball chop, not by itself but it helps.

3.Replace your o-rings on bolt and striker. (if they need to be, or just clean them well) otherwise after a ball chop you will have paint on the bolt, this causes a bad seal and gives you that burp.

4. Make sure you dont have any burs or sharp edges in you feed tubes or on the bolt itself. Any sharp edge can puncture a ball and cause an easy break in the chamber.

Hope it helps you guys out.

need any other help let me know. I have had a ton of problems with my good old compact, but havent retired it yet
