Torpedo Reg
I'm thinking about buying the bob long torpedo reg and read that it can only go to 600 psi. What can i buy to get my spyder running. I read about the maddman rocket valve. Is it hard to install and will that get my spyder to work below 600 psi?

you can do a couple free home mods, like polishing your internals,a nd drilling the v/a with a 3/16 drill bit to increase aorflow, that alone should make your gun run at around 600psi

Thanks if it doesn't go under 600psi and i shoot over it will it damage the regulator? Also the velocity adaptor is that little hole where the co2 goes after it comes through my expansion chamber right?

you adjust the velocity through the back of your gun, and there is a little hole on the reg where you put an allen wrench to adjust the psi from 0-600. And no, it wont damage your reg if you are shooting at a higher pressure then the reg is set at, you bolt will just not cock back

hey before you jack up your gun, not saying you will but if you start getting into drilling parts and stuff and don't know what your doing next thing you know you'll making a trip to the proshop and buy a new gun. I suggest going with the maddman rocket valve, not only will it get you shooting 600 but you can go down to 300-400 range easy. If you are worried about taking your valve out and replacing it with the rocket one there should be instructions to do, or check out otter's site, the same site screwdup monkey gave you it has alot of suggested mods and stuff to do it could help on installation or you can call maddman or kingman for help, also to help flow of your marker and velocities i suggest getting a new highflow bolt and a spring kit.

"Inline" as in it is between the air source (HPA or CO2 tank) and the gun's input port (VA, in this case). These regulate a lot of air that is used to push the paintball.
This is opposed to a "Low pressure regulator (LPR)" which in paintball terms is a regulator that supplies 100psi or less to a pneumatics system used to operate the gun's cycle, but not to push the paintball.

ya i'm the same as awpdawhales and i need to be COMPLETLEY SURE that i don't need any other stuff (like VA's, or microlines...) for my xtra. So i wanna know if you can just screw in the bob long reg and be fine with a spyder xtra.

All right you'll need a micro line kit. With a 90 degree fitting and either a straight one or a another 90 degree one depending if you have an asa that requires a straight one.
You'll also need a valve that will make your spyder run low pressure(under 600psi, look into the maddman).
Or you'll need to drill out your verticle adaptor holes and asa hole along with polishing your internals.

I would go with Palmers any way its simply a better reg and easier to maintain and you dont have to worry about recocking issues and psi since its rated up to 900psi but do what you will. And dont get micro line get macro line micro line was pretty much done away with awhile ago because its weaker and doesnt have as much air flow. And I have heard and read about stock spyders getting under or around 600psi but simple home mods can be done to reduce the pressure a little to wear you need it with the rocket valve such as the veritcal adapter drilling, removing the venturi, polishing the bolt and striker ect found here.......... http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomfr...2Fletters.html
