On spyders and cocking problems... look to the o-rings. It is the blow back pressure that re-cocks the marker, and it is the o-rings that hold that pressure around the face of the striker to push it back. If it does not re-cock, that can mean that air is getting around the striker and not fully pushing it back. Look for nicks or dry spots on the o-rings and if found, replace them. Otherwise, if you oil them up really good, this should correct the problem.
The other thing that may be happening is regulator shootdown. If you have been shooting a fast semi-auto for a prolonged time, you may get in a situation where the regulator can not recharge fast enough to maintian the pressure in your marker. Hence, it will not recock. The fix for this is to shoot shorter bursts until the regulator is fully broken in. Otherwise, you may want to invest in a better regulator if its stock or a cheaper model.
one further place to look is the valve and cup seal. If its a stock valve, you may be starving it when shooting fast. Not likely, but it can happen. Either that or your cup seal is letting air back out into the barrel and not occluding the valve face like it should. Inspect it for chips, scratches, flat spots, and wear and replace it if neccessary.
Those are my thoughts... anyone care to add?
