Spyder Imagine Velocity

Well I was playing paintball 1 on 1 with my friend earlier and he was usin his new Spyder Imagine that he got today. We were playin in his backyard, not too big, not evry big at all, wre actually got people callin cops on us and then the cops came and watched.

Well here's te problem...when he shot me it broke the skin. We tried turning the velocity down and all and it still went shot almsot the same speed. is there something wrong witht eh Imagine's velocity system?

We turned it all the way downa nd it still shot veyr fast, I mean, my gun shoots bit slower than that but that's cause my velocity's pretty low, but still, his barely changes, any idea?

well, the reason might be, that the backyard, is way to small. But believe me, if u guys get on a 100 yard course, and he shoots his gun, its probably gonna be as fast as urs.
Its just that ur so close to eachother, it justs looks like its goin fast.

The best way to figure it out is to get one of those handheld chronographs. My buddy and I were actually thinking of purchasing one so we can tune our markers.

Get a chronograph and use it. If it still shoots hot then use a lighter main spring.

All 3 of the Imagines I've purchased needed a coil or two cut off the striker spring (replaced by spring kit shortly thereafter) to get under 300fps. If it was a warm day, it was almost certainly shooting hot.

Those handheld chronographs are great for this and tuning before a day of play.

i remember when i got my spyder tl plus like 4 years back, it shot hot the first time i went out with it, and it still shoots decently high, its hard to control the spyder under 280 bc so many things like temp effect how fast you shoot, so try to avoid chrono's in field, or just put your gun down to 240 on a still chrono with a softer spring to help balance it out

but a new gun shoots very high, and i would reccomend not shooting in a back yard thats like 50 feet wide once you get it bc you'll be lit up with bruises, try to pitch together 20 to 25 bucks per person n get a chrono for urself, its very useful n decently cheap or just go to the yellow pages n look up paintball stores that will chrono your gun for free while they fill your co2 up or something
