Spyder Xtra - Sniper Setup
Hey all, this is my first time posting in this forum. I've been trying to find a gun stock for my spyder xtra so I can set it up as my sniper. I already have a Demon 21" Barrel that I use. It has extreme accuracy with it. I would like to complete the look of my gun and the feel with gun stock but have yet to have found any. Any help on finding this would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen one site have an adapter for putting a collapsible stock on but it has no pic. Plus I don't know if it is bogus or not.

Your gun must be horribly inneficient. You have about 7" of barrel that is doing nothing but slowing the ball down. Accuracy comes from a paint to barrel match, not a really long barrel. I cant imagine running around with the huge thing sticking out the fron tof my gun.
As far as a stock, they do make them, you just have to look around.

My friend.. you have been sucked into the biggest lie in paintball -- the elite sniper setup. I will not laugh at you or call you names, but be prepared for it, as they will soon come.
Read the sniper sticky.
Now.... As was posted before, 21" barrels are gimicks that companies use for no other reason but to sell an expensive product to a newbie player that doesn't know any better. Any barrel over 14" is counter productive. Only the first 6-8 inches actually make any difference in terms of influence on the ball, the remainder actually imparts drag on the ball and reducing its efficiency.
As to your attempt to put a stock on it, look on e-bay for a CAR 15 style stock for a spyder -- the are around $40 bux or so.
I applaud your enthusiasm for the sport, and I hope that you enjoy the sport for years to come. However, your current approach is not in the 'mainstream' of paintball today. Paintball has evolved over the years from battle simulations to encompass a whole gambit of competition style games and even national/international tournaments.
So read the stickies, learn what you can, ignore that asses that will call you names and make fun of you, and ask questions of the established members here.
Welcome to the greatest sport on earth!!

The barrel length I didn't know. Lol and actually I really didn't pay much for the 21" barrel. lol... it was only 20 bucks...just like my 16" barrel that I have. I am glad did enlighten me on the barrel length, I'd always heard from other people around where I live that the longer the barrel the more accurate your shot is. My gun actually does do pretty descent as far as shot. The gun came with a stock 12" but I didn't really care much for the accuracy on it so I went and bought the 16". It improved my accuracy on the shots. I don't really know if there is much else I could do to improve it any more, other than maybe replace the stock bolt with something a little lighter. Here is what my spyder has in it so far.
Spyder Xtra
Stock 12", Demon 16", Demon 21" barrels
Rest are stock parts.
Give me your opinions on the setup for use as a sniper. The good part bout the 21", I can actually break it down to a 16" barrel. Please hold any remarks about the 21" barrel.. I am a newb but I have enough knowledge thankfully about the markers that I can do modifications, upgrades, and repairs on them...lol actually when one of my friends starts acting up u usually hear someone yelling "mechanic". lol Thanks for the info again MedicDVG, Any other ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, this is probably a dumb question but is there by any chance any way of utilizing the 21" barrel? I would assume I would have to probably increase the velocity and possibly put a thicker spacer in where the spring guide and velocity adjuster are. Correct me if I'm wrong. lol I'm just coming up with some ideas for use.

You can still use it. You will just have to adjust your velocity to 300 fps or lower when the ball exits the barrel. Its just not the most practical barell out there. 12-14" seems to be the best, at least you aren't poking yourself in the eye when you try to run with those sizes.

lol this is true...but I'll probably be just laying out in the woods in a good position waiting on them to walk by.
If you want something to really laugh about...my friend just bought as 32 Degrees Rebel 02 Xtreme...his gun can use spyder barrels, so he put my 21" barrel on. As long as he fired it level to the ground it shot out fine...but as soon as he pointed it up, the ball would just drop out of the end of the barrell. lmao...but my gun shoots it just fine. Now he thinks my gun is the most powerful of all my friends guns. lol

lol I will tell them that but for now, lets let them fear it for a bit. lol they'll just never know when it'll hit 'em. lol. They'll be out in the wood being a quiet as possible then all of a sudden they'll be hit and wondering where it came from. lol I'll be out there laughing at them.

If my gun doesn't get the job done, I can get up, leave my gun and pull my side arm.... I just aquired a Armotech Zeus G1 RIS Pistol. So if they get to close or I'm under heavy fire I always have my backup plan. lol

I wouldn't mind trying that...I've been thinking bout using the way this one website explains on how to make a guilie suit, except make a blanket type to lay over top of me then make a gun guilie and see what happens. Should prove very interesting if I try that. I've also been trying to see if there may be anyway that I might be able to get my spyder xtra to look similar to the Spyder Sniper II Custom that is showed on paintball armory. The only problem I see so far is finding the combat stock that will attach behind the handgrip on the gun. Most I've seen that are universal only attach to where the drop foward goes. I might have to make a special adapter so I can attach it to look more like the real thing. Here is the picture from paintball armory.com any ideas on how to mod the gun up to accomplish this, throw 'em at me.

you also might consider going low pressure to make you gun quiter. goto otter's paintball website.

I've read a few things on low pressure setups, but I'm not quite understanding what the big difference is. Is my marker going to operate more effeciently or does it not make any difference? 0?
