Rodeo or TL-X
I've heard a lot of good things about both of these markers but I'm stuck on which one to finally purchase. You might naturally pick the Rodeo, as I first leaned towards it, but I read every review I could find and found some stuff:
The Rodeo has a built in regulator, which is a plus, but the TL-X is supposed to be pretty gas efficient anyway. A bunch of people have complained about the beaver tail and a few have mentioned the bolt scratching the internals. The TL-X also got more good reviews all around.
I just wanted a general idea. I'm only going to play for fun with a few of my friends so I don't care about looks and they're both pretty cheap so price isn't a problem. I just want to know if the Rodeo is as durable and gas efficient as people say the TL-X is.
Also It'd be pretty helpful if everyone mentioned any major problems they've had with either of these and whether it was a design flaw or an isolated incident.

If you're only going to do outlaw (I assume) with friends, don't necessarily go for he more expensive model. Have you ever played? You might want to rent first and see how much you like the sport.

first off do u know any one that has any of these markers? if you do, ask them first. i personally own a rodeo and i think its the best shooting mechanical spyder that i have ever shot. when my tank is filled im usually shooting about 1000psi on a 20oz tank. that usually will last me at least 6 hours of playing time. the rodeo is the top of the line mechanical spyder. the rodeo is a good gun. its fairly quiet. the stock barrel is good. i played my first tourney with the stock barrel on a regulation size x-ball field and held a guy in his bunker with the stock barrel(he was on end and i was on the other end). i would suggest, with any gun, a new barrel. id go with a 14 inch. try and find the barrel that came with the AMG Classic's. this barrel rocks on this gun. make sure you oil it GOOD or the gun with make like a tinging sound. also, if u dont the paint on the bolt will start to scratch off. the bolt comes out of the back of the gun at least 1 inch maybe 1 1/2 inches. and as far as a hopper goes u have to use the feed neck adapter. which makes the hopper stick up there pretty good, but shouldnt be a problem unless u play in tourneys that count gun hits. the feed neck(on the gun itself) for me anyway has seemed to loosen itself. also, the foregrip on mine is a little loose(u can turn it a little bit).another about air, if u shoot a good pace, and use more than 2 pods a game the air obviously run out faster. im going to try and shoot about 400-600psi next time i play to see if i can see a diff. hope this helps and i will post when i shoot between 400-600psi to let u know how it works then.

The rodeo is very gas efficient too. The thing with the bolt scratching happens on every spyder so that isnt a big deal. I would say go with the rodeo. Everything i have heard about it is good so far, except for little problems that most spyders have.

The Rodeo can shoot 400-450 psi stock out of the box with no mods using CO2 ... if that isn't gas friendly then I don't know what is (spyder wise). Plus it has a reg that regardless of what people might tell you isn't that bad at all. Sure its not as good as the Long Bob or Palmers but its fine for rec play.
The barrel is ... well not great. The pull is nice for a mech and trust me if you have the skills you can shorten it by about 2/3s. I have and I am shooting faster then my gravity hopper sometimes.
I would also ditch the plastic feed neck for a metal one ... $20 and it looks less noobish lol.
Rodeo for the casual rec player is a good gun.

I have played before and I definitely want to get into the sport. The Rodeo seems like a better choice but it's just that the TL-X has gotten nothing but awesome reviews. Plus, it's a lot more basic so If I want to I can upgrade the **** out of it.

i really dont think rodeos shoot 400-500psi out if teh box, at teh lowest maybe 700, with a couple home mods you could get it down to 600, beacsue i dont think teh reg even goes that low

I shoot mine at 500-600. And with an ESP grip your set to own the "walk on" field... and if you put a couple hundred more you can "try" and play with the more advanced players
