welcome to PBF
sure....any spyder/piranha/tippmann is good for a beginner. and thats not a bad price for that setup.
btw....i know you are new here, so please take a look around at the different forum sections. be sure to actually read the rules, it can be very important. also, in the future if you have any gun specific questions, please try to post it in the appropiate forum (spyders are in the stacked tube blowback section), you will find that you get better amd more responses that way...and the mods wont delete your thread.....

I was wondering because i heard everyone saying that a XTra is better...but i couldnt find a set with all this with it so i thought this would probably be the better choice.

well, its pretty much the same gun anyways, just a few little extra parts. id say go for it, and worry about upgrades after you/ve played a little while and see what it is that you want out of your marker.

But don't take that gun to any tourament or any paintball facility. First if you wanna have something decent get it upgarded before you do anything. New barrel, hopper, bolt, E-frame, drop forward, etc etc.

Ok, then if your going to be just playing with friends and shooting for fun then you still should condiser upgrading it. You will have a better gun with more accuracy, less chops, more co-2, faster, etc etc depending on what upgades you get.
I recommend buying your upgrades from www.xpaintball.com.They have a great selection and they also have cheap prices, one of the best i've seen.

Well, i looked at my local pawn shop and noticed a pirrana (sp) VTL with a bottom line for 140...mask, co2 (9 oz), 2 cilinder belt. Is this a good deal in your opinions?
By the way, i posted this in the new player area because i am a new player and i am looking at multiple kinds of guns (brands) so i didnt really know where to post it.

Its ok, your new here so don't worry about it. Pirran's aren't upgradeable much but you should still keep going for the Victor 2. Maybe vene the Victor 1, cuz the only thinkg the 2 has is just a grip and its not that hard to hold your hose line as a grip.

piranha's arent upgradeable?!?!?! are you high?
this it what i have done to my piranha sts g3
evil driver barrel
evil smokestack
boss bolt
custom lexan trigger
eforce frame
turbo valve
custom valve pin
shock tech med. drop
palmers stabilizer (female)
horizontal ring mount
LPC w/1500 psi gauge
6 pc. spring kit
not upgradeable? hardly.
but, to answer your question, that is not a good deal for used equipment. piranhas and spyders are pretty much the same gun, hence the reason they are called spyder clones....even though in reality they are not, spyder was just the first to make a sucess out of this particular style of marker. there are a lot of parts that are universal among S/P's, but spyder does have a few things that pmi dont...yet. pmi just needs to catch up.
keep searching, you'll find the right one for you.
