You mean for the site or for the games?

The games/videos are all made in Macromedia Flash, the website was probably done in Dreamweaver//fireworks or something of the like.

they definetely do NOT use paint. they probably use photoshop and illustrator for designing, and Macromedia Flash and Fireworks for animation as someone said before. thought, flash is not like photoshop, its confusing to learn on your own. i tried learning it, but stopped and now the web design class im taking, we're learning flash so im hoping ill learn enough to make one of those flash cartoons you see online.

When using imageready for animations, they become very choppy and you need more frames etc. With flash, it is much more fluent and much faster to animate things.

Yes, but I don tthink you can create gifs with any macromedia program. I could tell you right away if I went to the website but I'm too lazy.

you dont use imageready to animate.. the animations you see at like newgrounds, pennyarcade, etc., are all probably done using flash. imageready can animate .jpegs and still images, flash on the other hand you can animate completely. if you were interested in learning to animate, find a copy of flash on the internet (yeah the real version is expensive) and get like a 'Flash for Dummies' kind of book.

I'm not exactly sure what Penny Arcade is (brain fart?), but if i was a cartoonist online i would use Adobe Illustrator for the making the cartoons and everything. If its animated i would use Flash.
