Dear PBF smart computer peoples,

We have a problem.

until recently, my D drive has been working swimmingly. However, the D drive no longer recognizes anything. ive tried all troubleshooting methods, and checked to see if it was plugged into the power supply.

the latest drivers are installed.

if you are smart and can answer this, i will be happy.

love,
theunforgiven.

its most likley a cd drive. by default C: is your booted windows hdd partition, D is either the next optical drive or the next hdd or hdd partition. A and B are reserved for fdd devices. have you upgraded anything latley? like added a hdd to the ide cable that the cd drive is using? its probably just went kaput.

Check your IDE cables and make sure it's on the correct slot on the motherboard. Check your jumper thing and also make sure if it needs to be on primary or slave.

he's already checked power cables and it seems that he didn't screw with it, it just quit workin. so there won't be a problem with cabling. we shall see about the master/slave/cs jumper if he ever posts back...

Have you been using like Daemon or anything recently? Sometimes that can f up your system recognition of drives. What about any external cd drives?
