New Computer
I know how to use a computer, I just don't know much about them.
I got mine back in 2k. It has served me ok but I think it's time for a new one. I know nothing about new tech and whatnot. I wanna spend under 500 bucks. The main thing I'd use the new computer for is just surfing and maybe a limited amount of online gaming.
500's low but right now I'm running off like 200 Ram, 733MHz, and 30 gigs.
Thanks!

You can easily get a 2.53ghz processor, 40gb HD, pretty decent gfx card, and like 128-256mb ram for under 500... compaq or dell are good choices

if you don't need a new monitor you can save a crapload by building yourself. you will have a much better system that will tend to last longer, be easier to fix, and be more upgradeable.
IE: over a year ago i built my system, P4, 2.6ghz HT, 512mb ram, spent extra on a nice case and 3 cd drives, etc. total cost was <700 a year ago, right now a comperable system that i looked at from dell was somethin like 1200. go figure.
