ok i just moved and now i have a cable internet conection i used to have dsl

now before i moved i could watch video off the net I dont mean download then and watch then i mean click on the link windows media player comes up and it plays

but now if i try to watch a video clip it says and I quote

Unable to access this media you may not be conected to the network

What does this mean and how do i fix it?

Hmm.... I've never gotten that one before. I just moved and switched from Cable to DSL, and I've never gotten that from the Cable I used to have. What company is your Cable supplier?

dont mind my ignorance but whats a router?

computer was set up when i got here dad did that all i needed to do was install the cd

he hooked up the internet modem ect.

its becuz media players trys to notice like a connection or somethin and with cable ur always connected and it sometimes doesnt catch it. i have DSL and it does that to me, it sucks.

I don't know a whole lot about your connection since I've never used cable connections, but try using the dial up icon (like you would for a modem - but it's really just a RE-connection in this case). Of course, you will already be connected, but maybe you have to do that for the server to recognize your connection....

i dont think u can fix it. maybe if u got to microsoft.com theyll have some patch to fix it, but thats my last guess. other than that theres prolly no way to fix it

what type of nic (network interface card) do you have (internal, external, I have an ethernet to usb adapter so technically thats my nic)

what kind of modem do you have (internal, external)

do you have a network

do you have a hub or router
