ok just like the title says I keep getting a hungapp error. Mostly with internet explorer HELP SOME1 SMART HELP

Does it say anything else?
Can you post a screenshot?
Have you checked for spyware/adware?
Have you checked for viruses?
How often does it happen?
Is this problem new?
When did it start occuring?

i'd bet that its an error being caused by excessive spyware and viruses.

i've run three count em uno dos trace(sp?) spyware prgrams and I ran anti virus and still getting the error. It only happens with internet explorer mainly had it happen with msn messenger once but hungapp means hung application

If you've ran spyware and an adware program and you're still having problmes than do what Alpha said and download mozilla firefox. We did and love it. Alot less to worry about.

How To Speed Up Firefox (Helpful Vanity)

Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining

network.http.proxy.pipelining

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 12 max. This means it will make 12 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Oh and one last sweet one

browser.turbo.enabled click it from false to true

well i tried what you said swat and I got done doing the second one and xp found a problem and closed firefox down. So I reset it. I'll stick with the way it is, at least it works that way. lol

Our computer hates me. As soon as I toggled the second one from false to true. XP decided it hated me and firefox.

if you don't have it already, install service pack 2.

btw: here are the results of some anti-spyware testing that i've done. i'm not through yet tho.

winner: webroot spy sweeper. it picks up LOTS of stuff the others leave behind.

for the best protection for free, use microsoft antispyware beta, adaware, and spybot.

I'd just be sitting there typing up somethign two or three pages long, then it goes "heheheheh hello sam im going to ruin your ****ign day you ****" and shuts off. Then it turns on again.

ACtually I think the power button was broken.
