A knight would be superior to a viking because of training is better than any viking had. Look at what happend to the vikings about 1100 AD when they tryed to invade England.

Yeah, you have to remember, the Vikings were no army, they were small bands of basicly thieves.

they would sail to an english town or monestary, jump off their boats, kill everyone and take all thier valuables. Simple hit and run techniques. They were used to murduring defensless farmers and praying monks. If they ever went up against a disciplined military force like the knights Templar, it would be a massacre.

Becuase of there success in the holy land, the church had given them huge amounts of land in Spain, essentially to protect the Catholic Church from attacks from Muslims.

They were 100% successfull, and actually pushed them back.

The problem was the Catholic church was TOTALLY CORRUPT in the 1300s. They saw how much power the Templar monks were aquiring through military (and banking) conquests. The monks were loosing respect for the church because of all the corruption.
So... the church basically walked in, and killed off the leaders. The pope delclared the templars "finished" and that was that.

The templars could have beaten the church, but since they were NOT corrupt, it put them in a tough position. They couldnt FIGHT the church... and were basically powerless.

But as for the Da Vinci code. Thats a whole different area, dealing with Gnostics

Yeah, when the King of France at the time was extremely envious of the Templars wealth and wanted it for himself. So basicly he had the Pope at the time who was french, and basicly his henchman, declare the templars as heretics and were ordered to be captured and tortured for information. (friday the 13, 1307)

The king wanted to know where they had their treasure hidden, and had every Templar burned at the stake.

What was pretty cool is that the Grand Master at the time was brought forward before a huge crowd and was ordered to make confessions of his guilt to the crowd, but instead proclaimed the innocence of the Templars. So of course he was burned at the stake in front of the crowd and was still crying out the innocence of his order.

Now what is really cool is that he supposidly called a curse upon the french King and the pope, that each would meet him at the throne of god before the years end.

Both died within weeks.

I think one of the most wonderous things that still draws us to the knights templar is the fact we still don't know everything about them yet, do we? I don't think so and many of their secrets remain secret to this day.

Ninja's Will kill anything. They fly, turn invisible, Play DDR, and make sweet sound effects.

The only way your going to kill a ninja is throw something up in the air and hope it falls on one thats sleeping. Or hope that he trips over it 5 years later while running at light speed.

Well, if your someone who is really interested in the Knights Templar and thier history, I highly suggest you pick up "Dungeon, Fire, & Sword" by John J. Robinson.

It's a Barnes & Noble book, so mabe you can only get it there, I dont know.

But it's seriously an awsome book. It doesnt really go inot politics or anything, just 500 pages of bloody battles the Templars were involved in.
