this may sound kind of radical, but ive been thinking about it all day, and it makes sense. please note this is in no way meant to be a threat or have any bad thoughts towards religion.

now, here we go. i think it is fairly safe to say that christianity (i dont know about catholics, but atleast on the protestant side) is essentially a utopian communist society. think about it:

God= big brother
decons and those guys= inner party
brothers and sisters of the faith= well, the name says it all

in most christian sects, you dont just do what you want for god, god tells you what he needs from you and you get a special spiritual gift, which you can contribute to the cause. there are people needed to be missionaries, people needed to help pay for them, people needed to do certain stuff for the church, etc, and its all supposed to be done according to what god wants, not what you want. This is just like in many communist societies, where when a certain job is needed, people cant just choose what they want to do, they have to fill that need.

after this, you look to the fact that NO ONE suffers from hunger, shelter, clothing needs, etc, if they are a member of a church and simply ask for some help. people with more, give to people with less. this is also a communist principle, where everyone lives up to a certain standard

after this, look at the christian belief that we are all equals, and we are all working together, richer or poorer, for the same paradise. this is the main idea of communism- everyone works together, suffers together, and rejoices together, working towards the same goal- reaching a utopia (heaven, in this case)

i really could keep expanding, but i wanna leave the floor open. any thoughts? please no flaming, i dont want this closed becuase i really find it provocative

Though catholisium keeps capitalism which is how we fund all the relief/aid. Though many do help others if a need is seen.

In communism, your job depends on what society needs. Say you want to be a doctor, but there is a need for janitors. The party forces you to be a janitor.
In Christianity, your are supposed to use the talents and gifts that God gives you in the most positive way. So if your have a knack at medicine and want to be a doctor, the Church supports you 100%, even if they are in need of priests.
As far as the rich ginving to the poor idea, Christainity differs from Communism again in the fact that in communism, you are forced to share your stuff (even if you need it), while in Christianity, you have a choice wether to give or not.
In Communism, you are forced to do what will benefit the party with no concern for individuality.
In Christianity, you are supposed to use your individual gifts to benefit the whole of mankind, and in turn, yourself.

this is why i called christianity a utopian communist society. no one feels oppressed, and everyone is happy about what they are doing, and they work hard towards their goals. it is definitely unconventional to think of conservatives as communists, but essentially that is what it comes down to.

and i think you misunderstood me about the whole god has a plan for you thing. im not talking about professions and stuff, im talking about roles inthe church, how you support, etc. im sure if youve heard it once, youve heard it a million times- "god's plan may differ from yours, but you have to follow god's plan because he knows what is best."

^i think that is about as communist as it gets

I took out the communist manifesto the other day. Havent started yet.. Im currently trying to read like 4-5 books. so it may take a bit.. but it has been tickling my interests.

communism can work but people will not let it work. every one needs to be communist for it to work or a big area of the world needs to be. thats the way i see it. And you have one more communist he then you think... im a very crappy one but what the hell

Communism will never work, simply because why should you work you ass off and become a doctor, being on call 24/7 while some guy who doesn't do ****, sits on his ass all day, and gets payed thesame amount of money as you?

Maybe if people weren't lazy, and they truly did work equally as hard at whatever "task" or "profession" they undertake then there wouldn't be a problem with this.

In theory communism would work, and hell I'm all for a utopic society, however it is human nature to resent people who have more then you. Whether it be material things, or simpler things such as feelings.

Not one single "communist" nation exists...which just proves human greed, corruption, and resentment were never part of the equation.
