First job
What was your first job that actually PAYED.
I've worked around the house and stuff but other than that I've been babysitting the neighbor's kids. Pay is good and it's something to do until I get a real job like fastfood or something. Yours?

I used to work for Acme, same thing as Albertsons for those that dont know. I started out at $7 an hour, when i left i was making $8.50 I was there for about a year too. Should have kept that job, i would have been making much more then i am now, lmao! Now i work for Allied Barton Security making $10 an hour to sit on my ars and do nothing.

Dishwashing at this steakhouse in town. $5.15, minimum wage. Also bussed tables for the same + tip money from the staff I was working with. Work the docks at Overnite transportation now. Pays almost $13 an hour and I get a lot of hours, but man it sucks sometimes.

I think mowing your families lawn and doing stuff around the house for money is obsurd(Did I spell that right?).
Its your house, your family, your parents feed you, give you shelter adn blah blah, why would you ask for even more of their money for a simple job like mowing the lawn. I do it out of good faith, plus I can't stand really long weedy grass that rubs on my legs when I walk through the yard.
EDIT: I was a paper boy way back when for something like $.25 per paper + tips. I quit because I mostly got .50 cents from each person a week. See when they signed up, the damn paper company has a bubble form. Down on the tips section, you can either bubble in .25/wk , .50/wk .75/wk or fill in your own. Most people just picked the one in the middle, which I believe is way low, considering I delivered papers every day for over a year 3 hours before the deadline, never taking a day off.
My second job was working on a snakc bar at an island. My uncle ran the ferry to the island. So every day I'd wake up at 5, ride my bike 10 miles to the next town, hop on the boat, take a 45 minute ride to the island, and by 10, start working. I usually got off around 4. I sold ice cream out in front of the snack bar and talking to the people there was so awkward becuase they treated me like I was 5. This was just last year mind you. The pay was pretty good. I started off with $8.50 per hour. But then again, I got paid right out of the register, which usually included wrinkly 5's 10's and some 1's. Who likes wrinkly money. I usually got underpaid, a lot. I was supposed to be makign about 51 a day for 6 hours work, but I usually got around $36-48. The last three days of last year's season I still havent been paid for.
I just recently applied, and sent a resume to Boston Paintball, hopefully I can nab a job there. I'd still have to ride my bike (well ride my bike to the train, then ride the train about 20 miles in past boston, hop on the orange line, and ride another mile to the field), but I'd work at a field for peanuts.
