Watercooling
So I'm thinking of going water since the hot weather out here doesn't help out much. Now, I've done some reading around and I've been told that it's probably better to create my own custom setup but I really don't know where to start and by that I mean which manufacturer names should I look out for, both good and bad. I know I'll need a pump, radiator, fan and a heat exchanger but I really don't know what a good setup would be. Any help would be appreciated, thank in advance!

I've been using a Swittech kit for a while now. It's mostly a custom job, they just give you all the pieces you'll need. Has a pump, radiator with fan, block, pipes, and the fill/air bleed valves. Works good.

I dont trust myself to make my own water cooling system for my beloved. Knowing me I'd accidently cut a pipe, turn it on, and have water destry my comp.

Yea, I am referring to watercooling for computers. I'm also not sure if I trust myself enough to go out and build a custom kit because who knows what could go wrong. I checked overclockers.com out but I dunno if there's any other sites thats as credible so I'm just thinking of buying a kit. Anyone got any suggestions as to which kits are worth investing?

You run the kit for 24 hours in a clean computer (just the case, nothing else in the computer) to check and see if you have any leaks.

Yep, run it in a empty case.
Or the kit I used lets you vaccuum test it for leaks, so you can install it in a case that's already populated with your parts. I did that twice so it took a few hours. It's been running ever since without a problem.

They use water for turbine but liquid alluminum i think it is for a coolant and as a means of slowing down the neutrons. Regulator, I think?

You were probably responding to Shocker's post up there, but if not...
If he has enough heat in his computer to use liquid metal coolant, there is something seriously wrong.

Oh come now, I'd like to think that if you needed to seriously consider heat sinks you're rig could easily hit 3000 Kelvin.

Yeah, because that wont get really annoying after the first.....half hour? Id rather just invest a little and do it right and never have to worry about it. Plus (and maybe I'm wrong) the shock from your computer going from overheating to immediately cool cannot be too good for it.

Water cooling is almost silent. It also cools a lot better if you're overclocking.

Yea, it's used mainly to keep overclocked PC temps reasonably low especially when running heavy graphics. Air cooling isn't all that effective for me especially during the summer since I live close to the mountains, the weather is extreme out here...So I think I'll just get a kit rather than go through the hassle of mixing and matching. Anyone know of any good kits/review sites?

www.frozencpu.com would be my first choice.
Actually, them and www.newegg.com are the only computer websites I'd order off of. I don't think newegg has any watercooling stuff though.

I bought mine on newegg. They don't carry many different ones though from what I've seen.

Oh, okay.
I would check newegg for what you want before frozencpu. Newegg has the best service out of any online store I've seen.
