Tough Soccer Tryouts
well guys, this is the 3rd year i will be playing for my high school team, im a junior obviously. it has been the hardest year by far....
we all showed up monday knowing that we would be doing some agonizing 2 a day practices. well i was wrong.... we had 3 a day practices.... the 2 early sessions we had to do a 1.4 mile run with a ball. trust me, it is much more difficult with a ball. after our second session, i was cramping up pretty bad and my time for the run wasn't too great.
tuesday wasn't much fun either. we had some tests for our endruance and speed and stuff, i got 4.7 for my 40 yard dash, was kinda proud of that. then we had our 1.4 mile runs again, lol. then of course we had our practice that night as well.
wednesday..... the worst day of the entire week. we had to meet somewhere for our annual 2.4 mile run, most of the way uphill, i am not exagerrating. that wasn't the bad part tho. not five minutes after everyone had finished the run we had the most horrible part of tryouts... sprints... im not talking regular sprints. these were 100 yard sprints up a hill at about a 30* angle. and having to do that right after our run, it was just horrible....
thursday was a pretty easy day, it was pretty relaxed, except we had more sprints in the morning, but they were on flat ground
this morning was a pretty easy practice as well, and the coach told us who was JV and varsity. i was varsity like last year and we have a tough practice this afternoon... not looking forward to that, haha. but it probably won't be too bad. then we r gonna have pizza tonight and atch a film, then tomorrow is our brown vs. gold game (school colors) then we have the rest of the weekend off. it has been one of the toughest weeks of my life..

Dont worry about actually being good, just buy the best cleats, they make up for the rest.

sounds tought, i hope mine aren't like that.....mine are in the spring. but ya don't buy the best cleats bc the other team will concentrate on you and try to pin u down the whole time. lol thats all my team last year and our coach talked about. b4 the game we would look at the other team and whoever had to "best" cleats we would hold down the whole game. I just wear $45 addidas instead of $300 nikes like the goalie on my team

going for the person with the best cleats really makes sense
if it's on a varsity level, you probably are going to have quite a few good players, so u cant really go for a best player, as most varsity players are gonna be soemwhat good atleast.
what position you play viking kid?

I have never came across a good pair of cleats under 70 bucks. By good I mean that the actual cleats arent rubber and they actually last me more than 3 games.

not really, best cleats doesn't mean much of anything. ive seen jv players with 180 dollar cleats, and varsity strikers with 80 dollar cleats..

i know but.....sometimes its better not to go w/ the $200 floresant green cleats bc they may attract some attention from the other team. i wear cheap ones so whatever, its my feet that do the work my cleats just stick them to the ground

One cool trick I learned is to buy cleats that are neon colors, green, yellow, orange. Then while you are dribbling the other team focuses more on your bright ass shoes rather than the ball.

I wish I could say that cleats deserve this much attention.

Over the last 4 days, I have played 27 hours of soccer. It's been tough but I'm pretty highly ranked on my team. Tomorrow is out maroon and white game. (just like yours)
