my flight
well i got back from TN and on the flight back we were flying in a little storm and the left wing got hit by lightning (i swear im not making this stuff up)
it was weird i was doing hw and all the sudden there was boom and flash on light on my left a couple of people jumped a freaked out. I didnt like jump or anything but did scare me a little. Then the little lights up top flickerd a little but thats all. In the end the lightning did no damage to the plane.
Any of you ever had flight like this or something?

I've had some rough flights, but nothing too extreme.

Vids or shens.
Just kidding.
I've heard that sometimes after a strike like that the electricity will 'glow' over the skin on the plane as it dissipates.
Probably made a lot of people nervous when it happened. Storms alone or thermals are bad enough for most people.
I flew out somewhere on vacation with the family and the plane shuddered the whole time. Bad timing I guess but nothing dramatic.
A couple of people from the school flew to San Diego last year for a chemistry thing, that was an experience.
I got stopped at all the airports for carrying all our laptops and junk. The small local airport here in PA let one of the girls onto the plane without photo ID. We had a good ol' time getting her back onto a plane in Cali for the return trip.
She'd also never been on one of the small turbo-prop planes that run short flights before...She believed me when I told her that we were waiting for the pilot to get out and flip the props over to start the engines. Naturally she bought most of the other things we told her during the trip like "Never heard that before." "We sure are leaning a lot for this turn. Hope everythings ok" "Did you know this 737 series was taken out of service for the engines once?" ...Poor thing.
...Edit...They broke my suitcase open as well. Not cut the lock off, broke the latch that holds it shut clean off. Just to put a note inside that said something worthless like "your bag was searched. If it was locked the lock may have been removed. We cannot replace your lock." Didn't even look like anyone searched through it once it was open. All the papers were in order and so was everything else.

First time I flew when I could comprehend what was going on was my first time flying alone, too. I was 8... I was flying to florida with a layover in memphis. Layover was kick ass cuz I got to play video games and get free chips/soda. Got on second plane only to find out, later in the flight, that we coudlnt' land in florida. We had to land in hick ass Alabama town with dirt roads and no houses.... After a 3 hour bus ride and a 10 min car ride, I got to go to sleep after a long ass day.

Were the runways at least paved? Haha...
Yeah, speaking of getting stopped in airports, I got stopped last summer after going to a missions trip in Moldova (Russia/Romania area) and I bought two souvenior (sp) knives and put them in my baggage that goes UNDER the plane, so they stopped me and asked me to go in the back so there were a bunch of rather large men screaming at me in Russian, so I'm sitting here like..uhhh... and I guess he just got tired of it so he just made me put the baggage on the belt and let me go..

Craziest thing that happened to me was one time our right wing caught on fire on a mexican airline (dont fly aztec air.... just trust me). And everyone on the plane was like AIS DIO MIO! And I was like sketch man! And everyone was hoping around. Then the piolot was like "Come mierde man!". And We were all a little scared but it was cool. Then the fire went out.
Another one was our math class (this is true too our school has 30 students and 5 students per class so we could do this, plus our teacher is also a pilot ) got to take a trip on a small engine airplane (cesna). And we were flying and we were suppost to plot our course using trig and taking wind vectors into account making sure we were goin the right way. When we were doing this in the irplane we hit the gnarliest turbulance. it felt like a 8.3 on the richter scale and I would know I live in cali and have seen some gnarly stuff and this was by far worst. If I didnt have my seat belt on I would have hit the roof and snapped my neck. I now know why they make you wear seat belts. Then my teacher procedded to tell me on how airliner flights people regulary take off their seatbelt and hit turbulance, bounce off the seat and either die or get severely injured. I will forever wear my seatbelt on a plane from here on out...

My uncles a retired pilot for U.S Air. He said he was putting his feet up (they have little notches to do so in the old 737-400 cockpit) and his left foot slipped and accidentily pushed the left rudder pedal all the way in. He said half the people had coffee stains on their shirts lol.
When I was little I was on a flight to Orlando. We were on an MD-80 (or 87 I forget). We were about to land. I saw the runway through the window and all of a sudden the pilot pulled up really hard. The g-forces pushed your head down and it kinda hurt. Turns out another plane taxied onto the runway when we were just about to land. Pilot told us it was a dog on the runway but we heard on the radio about it that evening.

Yea they have thousands of dollars put in those planes so it can go through a storm and get hit hundreds of times and nothing bad will happen...i do belive you but usually during storms pilots try to fly ove the clouds.

Come on, man. Only three places you could've stopped-- Birmingham, Huntsville, and Dothan. Birmingham is big and 50% concrete, so I hope to God that you don't consider Birmingham a hick city. Huntsville is pretty rural, but it's got its fair share of intellectuals (*cough* Space program *cough*).
Now if you landed in Dothan, I'd check for Scabees.
