Alex Rodriguez or David Ortiz for AL MVP?
Which one do you think should win, and why.
Post and discuss

i think big papi should be the mvp... because if you would take him away the red sox wouldnt be near as good as the yankees w/o a-rod cuz the yanks have good backups for him the redsox dont(p.s. im a red sox fan)

considering he puts up better numbers than pretty much everyone on your team id shut up
but ortiz is more valuable to his team than arod is. ortiz IS the red sox. they wouldnt win half their games without him

Definately Papi. Although I could be slightly biased.
I think arod has a better chance though, because arod plays on the feild, while papi is just a DH.

ummm the red sox now have 6 world series. They won 5 before 1918 before the yankees won their first.

Tipp 98, sorry pal your wrong, as one of the people above me stated.
And I could care less about history, when was the last time the yanks one the world series, '98 was it(not sure on that)? Right now I say the sox are better, although I am slightly biased as I said before

ortiz deserves it regardless of the team behind him (even though its a stupid argument saying he IS the team, seeing as we have graffanino batting 309, ramirez with 41 homers and 138 rbis, (which is better than arod, because who cares if you get on base all the time and nothing comes out of it) olerud, who is in a slight slump batting a normal averge at like 310. johnny damon is hitting well again, and his average is a climbing 318 or so. did i miss anyone? probably)
so anyway, david deserves it more than arod because he is 100% clutch, whereas arod just puts up numbers. 19 of davids homeruns have comes in the 7th inning or later. 20 of his 47 homeruns, which is almost half, either tied the game up, or put the sox in the lead. add to this the fact that he has 20 more rbis than arod, and its no question that papi deserves it more. if you ask me, someone who gets shyt done is worth more than someone who puts up numbers when they dont matter

how many of his hr's have been game winners or game tying? id bet more than half of them
your team may be batting well, but your bullpen is horrible. and the one person that has saved your team from being killed by its pitching is ortiz

i thought we were talking about how ortiz should win AL MVP, not how bad the bo'sox bullpen is. It doesnt matter if Ortiz saves the redsox every game, that juts makes him and even more of a better canadate for mvp
