Spring break is gunna be terrible.

My spring break is gunna suck. If I bike (which is ALL I do) I need to wear a helmet because these cops are pissing me off.

Today I was waiting for my friends to meet me someplace and a cop pulls up to me telling me I need to get a helmet and whatnot. All my friends but me were stopped and they all got a $5 gift certificate to Best Buy (one got two), I got nothing.

Then me and my friends roll into our old dirt jumps, we finish fixing up the jumps and landings and then 2 cops pull up, one of them being the one I ran into earlier. They take down all our names, numbers, adresses, parents name, etc. I told them my number and they were like "Are you sure thats your number, you don't sound serious." Pretty much did that to everyone, so we were accused of lying because some asshole cops think just because we ride we are the scum of the earth. Then they tell us we will each be getting a letter from the Juvenille Center telling us we have a warning and its on record or whatever. My friend is **** scared because he has like 20 warnings and the rule is if you have 2 you have to do some community service.

Then they question where we got our stuff. I'm ****ting myself because half of the **** down their is stolen and I took part in all of it. Then some fat ***** mother who apparently owns the land comes and talks to the cops, saying how she warned us, kept records of it, and whatnot. This is the worst part, her son who is probably 11 and his friend were skateboarding, without a helmet, talking to the cops. Then we have to drag all this stuff back to my friends house because he lives the closest. We tell them a lot of the stuff is dumped here by the street. The tall skinny cop makes a smart ass comment about how it must be a huge coincidence, calling us a liar again.

As me and my friends are dragging some of the stuff to my friends house the cops starts rings his doorbell, talks to his parents. The dad says "That wheelbarrow isn't mine." but his son told him it was in the woods behind his house and he bought it so we won that.

However, they won because now we have to wear helmets when we ride and we don't have our jumps. The whole time the cops assumed just because we have make-shift looking bikes, we ride, and probably because most of us don't look like what a lot of older people like to see in kids (long hair and whatnot) that we are the scum of the planet.

Then we chilled in the neighboring cities because over the past 3 days 3 of my friends had their name written once a day for riding and we wanted to hang low.

Damn mikey that sucks. Our local skatepark has been closed because of typical norcal weather. So whenever it rains we get ****ed over. Some toxic waste comes up from underneath the park and then they have to get a lot of vitamin C to help clean it up and then we can skate it again.

So basically we have nowhere to skate, nowhere. Bikers can do a lot more with a little terrain than most skaters can, we can't roll through dirt and grass. Or go on bumpy asphalt.

I've decided to build a mini ramp in my backyard. I built a quarterpipe a while ago and that went well but it just doesn't suit me.

Its suprising what you can do with a couple 2x4s and a little plywood.

i ride also, and that **** pisses me off. i got "a warning" because my ****ing bike didn't have reflectors. i've also gotten "a warning" for not having a helmet/riding on school property. i hate cops that pick on my friends and me when we're just riding around.

shows what this damn world is coming to.

I would have told that cop to **** off and go do something better with his time. There are people robbing places and causing all sorts of crimes. Now I know why it takes so long for a cop to get to a car accident scene, because he's busy being a little ***** and writing up little kids for riding their bikes and getting some goddamn exercise.

So let me get this straight, you're PO'ed that some cops told you to wear a helmet when your riding your bikes and going off dirt ramps and such. Then they are hasseling you about stolen stuff when you did take part in stealing it. Sounds like the cops by you are doing an A+ job and should keep it up.

Tell you what, why don't you stop stealing ****, try wearing a helmet and being nice to cops for about a week. I bet they won't hastle you as much, if any.

See, kids are stupid. The way to deal with cops isn't to fight them, but to become friends with them. Then you can get away with a lot more.

QFT, a cop saved my dad's life when he was mugged 20 years ago, and saved my brothers life after they made his wear a helmet while riding, 2 days later, my bro gets in an accident that could've taken his life, if he hadn't been wearing a helmet.

My beef with cops isn't so much that they do their job, it's the fact that they're complete assholes on power trips when they do it.

Last summer, for instance: Me and 2 of my friends were popping some leftover 4th of July fireworks in an empty lot, away from any trees or buildings. We figured it was a pretty safe spot.

So we were launching some very minor bottle rockets, keeping to ourselves and not doing anything overly stupid (Apart from doing that thing where you light the fuse and then it flies out of your hand... That may have been pretty dumb). We go through a gross or two of them, and all of a sudden a cop car comes flying out of nowhere, and this asshole cop DRAWS HIS GUN ON US and tells us to drop our fireworks... WTF? I don't know if you have ever had anyone point a loaded gun directly at you, but it's not the best feeling in the world. I admit that we were doing something we maybe shouldn't have, but having a cop draw a gun on us was complete abuse of power.

I will agree with the not stealing stuff part. Nothing is wrong with not wearing a helmet. If I wore a helmet they'd find something else to complain about. When I was younger I was pulled over for not having a light on my bike, not a reflector, a light. The cop expected me to go to Toys R Us and buy a $10 useless piece of junk to strap on the back of my bike.

My friend called a cop an asshole after the cop pretty much called him a waste of life. My friend spent the night in jail. Cops around here need a real job. Everyone will agree with you, kids and parents alike.

Cops kick us out of everywhere and expect us to refer to them as "Sir" or "Officer" instead of "Cop". They think we should kiss the ground they walk on because they are part of the PD.

I can understand if we get written up for being annoying to the places around us. When you get written up for riding some ledge behind an abadonned wearhous things are getting out of hand.

Hating cops doesn't make you cool. They tell you to wear a helmet because they know what's best for you. Why wouldn't you wear one anyway?

Think of it from the cops point of view though. Your trespassing on someone elses private property doing something potentially dangerous. If you hurt yourself the land owner and possibly the town can/might be sued. This is coming from a person who owns a few of those old abandoned buildings and knows from experience.

As to the light on your bike? Were you riding around at night? If your riding in the dark you should have a light on your bike, again, we're back to saftey like the helmet.

As to calling them officer when talking to them instead of cop. That's just out of plain respect, you shouldn't even have to be told to do that. Just like you should call anyone noticably older than you sir or mam, hold the door for women, stand when a woman walks into the room, take your hat off when you go inside a building, ect.

I don't know, maybe I'm old or something.
