deciding on a university... is impossible
Ive been trying to decide on what university to go to for the past 5 months.. and am no where close to deciding.. and my dead lines are june12th..
Its just so much money and so many things to compare them all on...
its impossible..
any one else have a hard time with post-secondary..

Come join me at the Rochester Institute of Technology. With scholarships and federal grants (not sure how that'd work with you) I'm only going to be paying about $6500 a year.

I'm not at the point where I have to decide yet, I'm just finishing my Junior year. However, I know that I want to go the the University of Michigan so if I get in there I won't have any decisions to make, but if not, then my decision will take a lot more thought.

My guidance councelor wants me to go to Lehigh or Carnegie Mellon but they're so expensive. I want to go to UNC but it's impossible to get in to. My safety schools are Rutgers, Penn State and I might apply to SUNY Oswego, but I don't actually want to go to any one of those that much.
Actually my councelor suggested RIT to me too, but that's a little too far north for my taste (it's about the same as Oswego).

Im just going to community college for the first 2 years and take the core classes and then decide on a university.

Eh, it's not too bad. Rochester is actually sort of nice and *gasp* somewhat fun. Well...Maybe not fun, but...It's not that bad. Way better than Oswego at least. And RIT is a really good school. You're practically garuanteed a job when you graduate.

yeah, see i had thought of just taking general things here before i moved on.. but no point really...
for the longest time i wanted to take a year off and travel. Really wanted to go down south and do some volunteer work. Id still love too, but id blow my money on that rather than going to uni.. but now im gonna go to university, then have to pay off loans and never get a chance to do it.. kind of sucks really.
but im torn between Wilfred Laurier and University of Guelph

I can't wait to decied what college im going to go too....i know its down the road but im already getting emails from colleges from when i took one test and put my email address in....got i can wait so long i will stay in high school the rest of my life if all i cared lol.

lol, Sophmore going too be a Jr next. I know i already want out by now since i go to a Private school but its gotta be alot easier than going to work everyday, sometimes u just dont want to grow up lol.
but college life rocks if u can get away from your parents, even tho u will have pretty much absolutly no cash, the sports, the being on ur own, the drinking, the parties are all great.

im already basically on my own though.. i drive wheverever whenever i want.. drink whenever (not near as much though.. well.. wasnt near as much till last weekned) and dont come home for a couple days sometimes.. but it would be nice not even have to come home..
but im bad when i have no obligations.. my judgment really lacks and i do dumb things. this weekend is a good example

I went where its gonna be the best education for the money. I'm goin to Stockton State, its a state school so its mad cheap and a really good education. I was gonna get a good sized scholarship package from Fairleigh Dickenson for lax but its still a killer high price and not that great education.
Just weigh out your options dude.

Im glad next year is senior year. Im only taking english 4, Current Events, and math topics, the rest are web design and graphic design. I get out hella early too. Gonna be sweet.

Basically the best advice anyone could be given when going into college.
Weigh your options, some places will give you a free ride, but the education sucks. Just whatever suits you the best. I know it's stressful, I've been there before..last year in fact. If you can't decide just go to a community college and get your basic classes out of the way as you try to figure out where you go.

I almost went to community college for 2 years too. I was accepted to the STARS program which means I get free education(core classes basically) as long as I keep a 3.0. I woulda done it but my parents are startin to get to me and I wanna get outta this town. Plus, I didn't wanna transfer mid college and miss out a couple years of lacrosse. Community college isn't always a bad idea.

Lucky you, i am going to take some college prep courses my senior year since i didnt scedual them this year for my Jr year. im going to take speech class, maybe a communication class and a business class cuz im thinking im going to need them for what i go into in the futrue...some people acualy rub off on me when they say plan for the future. |
