i see what ur saying, but its a crappy squier mini that im never gonna play out of my own house (or probably ever in my house) so if something went terribly wrog, yeah its my first guitar so it has sentimental value but, its not the worst thing in the world, it would be a whole different story if i was doing it to my gibson tho

Then i'd do useful mods like new pickups, a new birdge, new pots, new tuners, if you wanna make it interesting and into a project. Sure painting can come, but id wait until you find something you really want. You can take out pickups, you can put the old bridge back on, but you cant take off the paint once you put it on.

there's a lot of designs. a rising sun would look really good.
check out what i did to mine a little while ago. if you have any questions as to how i did it, just let me know and i probably have an answer. and for the record, don't just think that if you just stencil a design on there without at least priming (much less sanding) that it will stay on well.
so i painted my guitar

get a drill and hook a random scope (like on a gun) to it. and then all kinds of random stuff like...a knob to an oven timer or something

yeah i know what you're talking about. that could be kind of difficult. i'd say the best way to do it would be to cut the design out of a piece of paper, and tape that piece of paper to the corner. then, with the paper taped on, sand down the spot a little bit (only that spot) and then prime it and spray your design on. otherwise it probably won't stay on too well.

yeah, i sanded it. i sanded off about 1/16" of acrylic and got down to bare wood before i even primed it. it won't stick very well at all if you don't sand it.

damn, what about that new spray paint that actually makes a chemical bond to the surface ur painting, do you think that would stick w/o sanding or even primer?

krylon is overrated. if you want to skip priming and sanding, i'd say your best bet would be just to find a sticker similar to the design you want and put it on there.
