Should I get a class ring?
I was thinking about it, I have about 200 dollars (I might even swing 400 dollars if I feel the need) to spend on a class ring, is it worthwhile or is it something that becomes pretty worthless after HS?

I used my money on a varsity jacket I earned my freshman year.

don't bother.
if you want to remember high school, collect stuff from things you do.
I keep all my movie stubs, high school dance ticket stubs, memento's, etc. in a box and occasionally I look through it. it helps me remember my experiences in high school a lot more than a ring with my name on it.

I really loved my highschool and feel a really deep connection with it, so I'm glad I got my class ring. Everyone has the same model, all the way back to when the school first opened up in like 1902 or something, so it's got a lot of tradition.
I wear it a lot, actually.

Prick.
I know for sure I can get a letter jacket, so I'll probably get one of those.
Not quite sure about a class ring. I think I will though.

theyre kind of worthless. every single person i know who got one doesn't wear it. you wont remember HS from a ring anyway, do what tippmanbeast said - find other things to collect. for example, i have every single concert ticket stub, my brother has every movie stub, i have a metmunc gavel, i kept my ID cards, bus bass from 9th grade, introductory letter from 9th grade (it was a different principal and basically almost a diferent school when i was a freshman), old schedules, agendas. im putting it all in a box, and ill look at it in years later.

I bought both a Varsity jacket and class ring. They're nice to have, though after high school they rarely come out. I have both my parents HS rings and I plan on giving all of them to my kids one day, along with my college ring, but that's just me. They are pretty expensive for something that gets four years of use at most. Only you know if you really want it or not. Pretty much everyone at my HS got one and they are all the same other than metal, engraving, and what you wanted under the stone. I think you could get a basic pot metal ring for like $100.

IMO don't get one unless you're on the football team. They're a huge waste of money that you can definately use in a couple of years.

You'd probablly get more out of buying an expensive-looking ring at a jewelry store and giving it to your girlfriend (or any girl). If you're never going to see either one again anyways, i would imagine you'd probablly enjoy giving the girl a ring more than giving your kids a class ring which they too are also not going to give a **** about.

Eh, not that I'm trying to be a prick, but money is not a problem for me nor my family.
