BlueTie > Google
That's right.
BlueTie > Google.
Or more specifically, BlueTie > Gmail
Well, for small businesses at least.
www.bluetie.com
"Today we have made good on our promise of democratizing technology for small businesses:
www.BlueTie.com
FREE Web-based email and collaboration for every small business in America. Five Gigabytes of storage per user, and shared calendars, files and contacts.
Not in Beta, not a gimmick, and no credit card required. Oh yeah, and NO ADVERTISING!
This launch represents a huge effort by the entire BlueTie team. We have six patents pending on the technology, hundreds of servers added to handle millions of users, new features and applications launching, and major small business partners signed.
Congratulations to the entire BlueTie team for their incredible achievement!"
-David Koretz, founder & president of BlueTie
I actually have a small business, so I'm definitely signing up. It'll be very interesting to see how the new method of 'advertising' works out. I could see it getting very big, and I could see Google wanting in.

Oh trust me, it's nice. It makes GMail look like a 2nd grader made it. Very polished, with a lot of the features that GMail lacks.

I understand about not making a new e-mail for yourself...But I don't know if you guys are aware of how huge this is for small business owners. This basically replaces expensive software and/or expensive service subscriptions. Not to mention the incredibly innovative way of 'advertising' that they came up with.
Sure, it's not as big as the internet, but for small business owners and advertisers, it's kind of a huge deal. I just thought I'd post it incase anyone was interested.

5 gigs... that would last me until i was 40! (i've been under a gig in yahoo for over 5 years now... i'm still at like 12% capacity...)
that's awesome for small businesses - but honestly i see more small business work with microsoft outlook (::shivers: than anything else...
and it's hard to switch after you've been at one thing for a while, so i could see this getting really big (unless google buys it) but not for a while...
thanks for the update though!
