So on Thanksgiving...
I decided to camp out with my sister and friend at Best Buy. We got there at about 2 in the afternoon and there were already 20 people in front of us. By 4 the cops had been called by some douchebag for people 'cutting' in line. We sat around and talked for a hella long time until my parents brought us out turkey and stuff and some sleeping bags. We knew quite a few people up there so we walked back and forth and talked to them to help keep us entertained.
At 3 A.M. the parking lot was overflowing with cars and the people were not only lined up behind the building but the line kept going behind several other of the stores. At 4 A.M. they start handing out tickets for the big sale items that they have limited quantities of and we get pretty much everything that we want. I got a ticket for a laptop for $250 and a 32" HD LCD for $479 and my buddy got the same laptop and another computer. At 5 A.M. when the store opened people rushed in and started grabbing stuff as quick as they could. I picked up a DVD player, 14 DVDs, another 22" HD LCD and a few memory cards and then went to get my TV.
Well it turns out taking the Focus (my car) was not a good idea because it wouldn't fit in my backseat. So at 6 A.M. after not getting any sleep I have to drive 20 minutes back to get my dad's truck and then 20 minutes there again. Luckily they used the ticket system so I was still guaranteed a TV when I got back out there. I have it loaded in by about 7:15 and my sister is still waiting in line (she had been waiting since about 6) to pick up the laptop. I go join her and finally at about 8:45 we get to the checkout and stuff.
I get home, get my stuff hooked up for funsies and then lay down to sleep for the first time since 7 A.M. the day before only to have my friend call me and remind me that I had promised him to go up to U of I to watch the state championships and him get his little all-state plaque. So we go up there and watch the games and now, for the first time in 43 hours I'm going to go to sleep.
And I have to wake up in 5 hours to go play golf.
Edit- Forgot to add in there: At about 12 o'clock on our way up to U of I, my friend called me and asked if I knew anything about an armed robbery at Best Buy and I said i didn't. She told me that some guy at the same store held up a dude for all his electronics that he had just bought at gunpoint. Thats some crazy scheissa.
