Anyone have an accurate small scale?

I have a favor to ask of someone who has an accurate scale. I need something that weighs 100g or 3.53 oz, so I can compare it to a school project I'm doing over vacation.

I dunno, maybe a water bottle, whatever...something I might have, or have easy acces to.

I figure I can make a homemade balance.

Thanks!

This is the closest I came. 99.1grams(3.5 Oz) with a AA mini-mag with batteries in it but no end cap....

IDK if that is gonna work for you or not, but it's the closest I could come.

put some coins on the scale, and get a combination that weighs whatever you needed.

Also, weigh each individual coin, that way you can really make a homemade balance.

Yeh, it was 2 duracell AA batteries.

I went ahead and used coins to get as close as I could(don't know why I didn't think of that last night), and the closest I got was 16 quarters, two dimes, and a nickel, which comes out to 100.2 grams. The quarters are around 5.6-5.7 grams, the dimes were 2.2-2.3, and the nickels are 4.9-5.0 grams.

Every coin's weight will be slightly different depending on how old and used it is, so you would have to use the same set of coins to precisely measure it.

Take out the nickel and add 2 dimes. It should do 99.9 or 100.0 Exact.

Because of the slight variation in weight between coins, either way would be close. I tried your way and came up with 99.1
