Just saw a video on tv (I live in Spain so its on Spanish TV, of course) and it had me cracking up yet pissed off at the same time.

They had a Spanish news reporter in New York City walking around on the street and asking random questions to people. They guy spoke great english (surprisingly for Spaniards) so there wasnt a language barrier but here are some of the questions and answers.

"Where is Spain?"-----------Woman points to Argentina
"What are Hiroshima and Nagasaki and what happened there?"---------------Thats some Karate stuff right?
"Where is Poland?"---------------Man points to Somewhere near Greece
"What language do they speak in Russia?"----------------I dont know
"What language do they speak in Australia?"------------------I dont know
"what is the Capital of the USA?"-------------New York


There were about 40 more questions, everyone getting everything wrong. People were asked basic world geography, political, and US history questions. Some of the stuff I can understand, like you dont know where Lithuania is but common, not knowing your own Vice President?

These shows are quite the norm here. I love to see all the love for America!

The canadian station CBC used to have a special every year or so called Talking to Americans. It was like this. You could probably do the same to Canadians though, and in this case the Spaniards.

if we are all able to talk about how stupid people are here, then obviously they had to do some talking around before finding some morons. you could make any country look stupid by asking 1,000 people random questions and only selecting the dumbest answers

I have nothing against Indiana, I'm gonna be going to school there. But honestly, what do you people out in the midwest know about the world? People in NYC live in probably the most culturally diverse city in the world. I'm not saying that people from Indiana are stupid or ignorant, but come one, you're all pretty much white christians out there.
