ok so i just saw a show about him. hes a really good magician.

he does mostly card tricks from what i saw, and most of those are simply a matter of hand speed and deception

HOWEVER

when i saw him levitate, i could not think of how he did it

does anyone know...they proved he had no strings or any stuff like that...
so how does he do it
i honestly dont believe in magic or funny stuff like that
but this is wacky

I'm not sure of the legitimacy of either of their tricks but Criss Angel's are definitely more impressive.

they have the camera at a certain angle, and he stands to his side...and he pushes himself up with his opposite foot, so the people next to him cant see it....


i saw it on TLC like a year ago.....it showed how most of his tricks are done

As a magician for 10 years, I think I should probably post in this thread.

Most magicians will define magic as a feeling that lies in the spectator after seeing an illusion, a feat of wonder. It is all illusion or, "fake" as put by Alpha.

Very little of card magic deals with actual speed. It's mostly misdirection and making the sleight of hand look natural and undetectable. Using cover of the cards and hand.

The levitation Blaine uses is called a Balducci Levitation. Its been around since about the 30s. The other "levitation" Blaine does with both feet comming off the ground (is a view seen from the back) was done in a studio and the clip of the reaction from the Balducci was put with that"levitation" This has been a dissapointment in the magic community for quite some time.

Chris Angel's levitation is stellar, but angle sensative. You can buy the instructions and DVD on most magic sites, but building the actual aparatus is a good chunk of change.

The Soda Can is an effect that you can purchase called "Healed and Sealed Soda Can" It's a great effect.

If you want to see some stuff thats just insane, check out a magician named Cyril. He's the japanese magician that did the "Hamburger Trick" that went around on youtube by storm about a year ago. Check it out.

My shop/tech teacher went to highschool with blain..no joke. Criss Angel kills his show though.

A lot of the stuff is just s wierd. Like I watched Chris Angel walk on water, water that people were swimming through. People would even swim under him, it was wierd.

I hate blaine, but I saw how he did that levitation thing on T.V. The People get at a certain angle and he has black socks on and he has one foot lift him off the ground but the people are at the right angle and because the socks are black it looks like he's levitating. I did it once, IDK, I hate all magicians basically. For godsakes Jim, I know you have a rabit in your damn hat, you don't need to show me the inside of your hat, I know it's empty.
