First off, I play varsity baseball. and had a game yesterday, so I washed all my stuff and rounded it up and went to school in the morning. Big mistake. I forgot my jock strap and sliders. And I'm the catcher. And to top it off, the kid on the mound is throwing low to mid 80's. So I was pretty much freaking out.

I asked everyone on the team, and one person had a pair of extra sliders. Now, if you are unfamiliar with sliders, they are nothing like a jock strap. It does not hold the cup in place, more like dangling in front, and since the sliders were small, the cup was up a bit. So, the lower part of my nuts were "exposed".

It's a decend pitch, fastball down the middle, little high, so I bring my glove up, and he tips it off the bottom of the bat, wam. Laces straight in the left nut. Ouchy. I had to walk it off for nearly 10 minutes. And when i got home, my left nut was swollen like a mother. I compared it, and it was the size of an egg. A ****ing egg!!!!! So yea, the swellings gone down but it still hurts to even walk around.

straight nut shot, 80 mph, nut swollen to the size of an egg.

i was a catcher for about 5 years as well, and I know how You feel. one day I had forgotten my cup so I just positioned my legs more facing down the first base line and caught like that, luckily no nut shots. Getting hit in the cup still hurts pretty good, especially if you werent wearing a cup that fits really well or stays in place.

You see, I would have done that, but I did not want to risk any reason affecting my catching for the worse. We were playing our rivals, and I did not want to get blamed if we lost.

Btw, final score was 5-4. We lost by one.
