The boredom, is killing me..
Been on summer for a while, and I'm just really bored all the time. Sure I'm out every night and what not, but I don't get out of bed until 1 or so everyday. I don't have a job, so I don't drive my car like at all, and I can never do anything. Hell I can't even buy food. I have $15 to my name right now, and thats it. All I've really done this summer is get drunk or high almost every night and stumble on home.
So to make better of myself, I'm getting a job just for the summer. I won't need one during the school year with my internship. I also got a gym membership I'm not using, so I'm going to start going atleast every other morning to work out. Also want to start taking more pictures and trying to improve my photography.
What else could I do this summer to better myself/take care of boredom?

Haha, I've stopped smoking quite a bit. For a while I was doing it everyday, my ounce ran out and now I do it maybe once a week. So that's good I guess. I've still been drinking a lot, cause ****, it's just so much fun. I never really pay for weed or alcohol, so.. it's all good?

He asked how to better himself, not how to become a wage slave who carelessly drones through life.
1337: If you're serious about self-improvement, and I know this suggestion will seem boring... but spend a lot of time by yourself. After you're done analyzing yourself and thinking about every little thing, hopefully littler things will seem interesting to you—like walking in the woods, as I already suggested. I didn't do anything like this until I was 18. I wish I would have went through it earlier, but I'm still grateful for the process.

Now how many people here do you think know that song?
I feel like a waste this summer too. We don't have much work now, so I've pretty much been staying home. Today I didn't get up until 2:00. If my father still doesn't have any work in a week I'm going to have to find something else to do.

I feel ya Tony. Although I HATE being alone all the time and not social, I actually love it at the same time. I used to just drive around on the country side, maybe take pictures. Walk around lakes and what not. Also my freshmen year, I started to appreciate how beautiful the earth can be. One time in the car I just stared at the sky for like 30 minutes.
I really don't think there is whole lot left to analyze about myself. I know what I want out of life and I've got my emotions and what not pretty much under control.

My hair is already pretty short.. and I'm not really a slob. I don't really think I need much "cleaning up" anyways.

I guess the next step is to be active. If you know what you like, you should try to constantly be doing something you like. From my own personal experience at least, I've found that constantly trying to, or worse yet, forcing myself to be social never has really resulted in good friends, so it has never has really cut down on that "lonely" thing. At best, you can meet people doing things you like (that are a little more sustaining than just getting drunk and high, though).
As my life stands right now, I have a handful of decent (not great) friends that I've met (mostly) through local shows, and I've grown to really enjoy the time I spend with most of them; but at the same time, I still really enjoy being by myself. Most people seem to like me well enough, or at least get along with me, so when I'm out doing things I enjoy I have no problem talking with people and just having a good time. I wouldn't say that I'm exactly "happy," but I'm far from miserable.
The last thing I suggest is doing kid things. For example: a group of about ten people in my town have started organizing games of Capture the Flag two times a week. One of the things that will completely suck the spirit out of living is letting your "inner child" die. Go to parks and "play," make sand castles, play basketball or soccer or football with some friends, climb trees—I'm sure you get the idea... and surprisingly enough, most people won't have any problem doing this kid stuff.

The kid idea sounds awesome. We just picked up street hockey in the neighborhood recently and we all love it. I've never stoppd climbing trees. I love climbing trees. And as far as sand castles go, I did the biggest hole I can when i go to the beach in the summer.

Awesome. For real, even.
Usually the only people who will have problems with any of that stuff are the ones who are trying too hard to pretend they are "adults." And do you really want to hang out with those lameasses?

I am right there with you man. The other day I hit up the batting cages. Something I have never done in my life before. Also I think we're buying a double slip and slide pretty soon. Mainly so we can get some girls in bikinis to do it, but damn I've only done slip and slide once.
Hell I even want to pick up another goped to dick around on. I miss riding those things around.
