Here's my most recent pieces:
Here's most of my Benchmades (I've got some more in boxes, mostly doubles and large fixed blades):

Whats a good, durable, relatively cheap knife, say, under $50? Or even just particular companies to look at?

It's a police/military push knife, therefore it's really for punching people. However, mine just stays locked away as a relic.

Benchmade Red class, Spyderco, Kershaw, some CRKT, some SOG. What are you looking for as far as size and use? Folder or fixed blade? Serrated or non-serrated? Anything else you know you want?

That's only my knives from one company (Benchmade) and a few other pieces. I don't even think it's a quarter of what I have. I've been collecting for at least 12 years.

The Case Cheetah with the swing-guard? They're neat knives. Case's current steel isn't that great, but they are still nice traditional style knives. Queen cutlery makes one with awesome D2 steel that is somewhat better made, however they are tougher to find. The Case version runs about $80 and the Queen version runs about $60. The Queen piece is more of a user, where the Case Cheetah is more for collectors.
Oh, also D2 steel is non-stainless, while the Case uses a stainless steel. The D2 will cut better and is easier to sharpen, but can rust if not kept clean and dry. It's also good to oil it a bit every once in a while (as well as wipe the blade down with oil). With proper care you can pass it on to your kid one day.

in the benchmade pic, right above the "deer punching" knife, are those folding boot knives? they look double edged, which doesnt make sense for a folding piece but i cant tell, care to elaborate?
im going to a gun show soon with my grandpa to try to find some brand of spanish shotgun he collects, maybe ill be picking up some knives. ive always really wanted a kukiri (sp) for ****s and never got one, i also want a to get a nice all purpose survival knife. any suggestions?

They're only sharpened on one side, though you could sharpen the other side. The design is very similar to the old boot knife. The spearpoint allows for a thin, but strong, blade. They are popular with police because they are so lightweight, yet can handle most tasks.
As far as survival knives go I really like the Ontario "Randall's Adventure and Training" knives or anything by Busse/Swamprat. You really can't beat them.

i think im gonna have to get one of the folders. they sound solid
as for my current survival knife, i use my grandfathers k-bar from korea. its a great knife but its to big and klunky, plus no serrations. its definitely an outdated design IMO.
