Hi,

The recipie wasn't to difficult

-Banana

-Knife

-Extra-curricular force

and tada!

The reason I used a knife to be-head the banana in the first place is because I never really mastered the manual way to do it, so I often had banana sauce (quite similar to applesauce) rather than banana fruit.

Suprisingly it didn't hurt to bad to begin with. At first I felt it and it kind of had that feeling like when you get your finger slammed in a door and then I saw the stream of blood to the ground and was like...****...panic time

At first I wrapped a paper towel around it as tight as i could and I was amazed by how good the paper towel held it shut, then put ice on it and the next day got stitches cause it happened around 10 pm and we didn't figure it was hospital worthy so we just waited till the next day when the non-emergency clinic opened.

If you're curius the white fibers are just from the bandaging and it happened on friday but my camera was MIA untill just now

Btw, that little splotch of dried blood to the left of the cut is where they injected the novacaine or whatever- which, actually hurt nearly as bad as the cut itself

so.........hows the bananna? lol, jk. I pwned my thumb with a leatherman, went thru like 2 boxes of bandaids and my leatherman was taken away, because it needed stitches, but i never told anybody until it was purty much healed, but they found out the hard way. I also pwned my left index finger with somethin from a microscope kit, kept sharpenin it with scissors and it cut me purty bad. Both have scars but oh well.

I also have a dent in my shin thats almost fully invisible now. One of my dumbass friends had a lead pipe on the end of a garden hose and was swingin it, pipe flew off and dented me shin. It's on the same leg i'm gettin tatted so when I shave it I'll take pix.

Lol yeah, the banana didn't get any blood on it and my bro cut it up and brought it to me kind of as a joke.

Whoever tied your sutures sucks.

You however did a nice job. About a month ago I dropped a glass bottle off my desk and managed to slice the back of my finger open nicely picking it up. I drove myself to the hospital and they super glued the skin back together. I don't know if the glue is new or they only use it in certain situations, but it works well. They didn't even need to numb me with lidocaine.

I think I remember reading something about super glue being used back in WWII as a quick way to seal up cuts.

Anyways, yeah... those stitches look like they're made out of cheap wire or something

Maybe they use a different technique on fingers for some reason...?

Yeah, the docotor-type person said something about the skin-glue... although I do know a decent amount of people are biast against using it because the glue that's actually designed to be used in situations like this is pretty new I beleive.

The stitches are some type of familiar-feeling plastic and I thought the same thing when I looked at the one stitch on the top in the picture.

It wasn't at the ER. The lady brought in a bowl full of an iodine mixture (looked nasty as hell) and asked what happened and I told her I cut it cutting a banana.

edit v.2: Does anyone know when it's alright for me to clean it? My fingers been looking like that since friday and it's like, yeah I want to wash all the dried up blood off.

scrubs it with rubbing alcohol gently then put some neosporin(sp?) or vasalene(sp?) on it. Works wonders

The good thing about hurting a finger is you've got nine more. Loosing the thumb is a bit of a PITA though.

I thought super glue was originally designed to overcome stitches for healing cuts...

I've gotten stitches probably about 10 times. Not fun.

we use superglue at wrestling tournaments? last yr i cut my nose real bad and we couldnt get it to stop bleeding, and since u only get like 4 min blood time they just superglued it.

thats pretty raunchy though

the nastiest was last friday we where playing war (it's a wrestling game) and some freshmans braces caught Todd's (a guy who is going to army for football) toe in his mouth and sliced it to the bone. and Todd leaves in two weeks for basic training.

Yeah it's a four day thread, I just got home. Bite me.

But anyway that sucks dude, same thing happened to me about 10 years ago when I was stupid and young and thought paintballs I for laying around in the ditch were so awesome (I didn't ball back then..) so I found one and tried to stab it with a knife. Went directly into my pointer finger and yeah now it's a hard piece of whitish flesh..

that a human can cut off the whole piece of the tip of is finger(above the first and smallest knuckle from the end) and it will grow back!?
