So I am a victim of identiy theft... Oh goody.
Yep.. somebody named Chris Uhegu of Jamacia New York has a brand new digital SLR courtesy of my Visa Debit card....
I don't know how this waste of human skin got my card number, but lo and behold he did.
If I have a pending paypal transaction with you, please contact me immediately so I can furnish a different payment method.
1st time I have ever had a problem like this..
Filed police reports, filed reports with my bank, filed with the credit bureau....
This really sucks

Both of my sisters of had their identity stolen. I don't know if it was on national news, but some politician or something had software in his car that had a bunch of ssn's.
Someone stole it out of his car, and both of my sisters ssn's were on that software. It still is hard to crack the software and get into the files but its still scary. I think they signed up for some protection thing that the government is offering victims of the theft.

that sucks. i thought i was a victim of id theft in cabo because 400 bucks was missing from my account. it took some time, but we eventually figured out we were all reaaaaaly drunk and wasted a lot of money on a lot of stupid things 2 nights in a row (basically as soon as i got my bank statement). moral of story, dont drink and debit

mom and dad got theirs stolen like 4-5 years ago when Direct Tv some how leaked a lot of their CC numbers... some dude in florida bought a DVD player haha. and that was back when they were new / expensive haha.
Everyone filed a lawsuit against DTV but I dont know how that turned out... doesn't look too good because my family didnt get a large amount of money anywhere between there.

My mom's was stolen, but my CC Company noticed some charges that might have been fraudulent and notified us, so we could cancel it.

my mom's was stolen once. she got a new card made and all the charges canceled. however, a few months later she had fraudulent charges again. apparently the old credit card number was tied to the new one according to the credit card company. she definately *****ed them out.
