Bridge collapse
Looks like the 35w bride in MN, right next to me, just collapsed during rush hour. I will try and find a story but it just happened. Looks like around 20 cars went down or so.

Not sure, i just heard there was a youth group coming home from a field trip though. A lot of these cars were falling about 40 feet. Many injuries.

Yea, my stepdad used to drive on that bridge all the time but he started working from home, whew.

It was just on ESPN. At least 6 dead they said.
And like NYY..I drove over so many bridges today..makes me kinda nervous..

I was just gonna ask if there was any pics. Its scary though, not because its so close to home, but this bridge has been there for a while.
I kinda missed it, but do they know why it collapsed.

Minneapolis has known that the bridges they have that span the Mississippi are in serious need of repair. I always got nervous driving across the lake street bridge. That one is hella old and falling apart. There are some that have been abandoned completely IIRC..
This was a when it happens kind of thing.. not an if it happens...
Its too bad that people had to get hurt and killed.

When I lived in MN before joining the Air Force I crossed that bridge 100s of times. That bridge is right by my old stomping grounds. I just hope that that the death toll doesn't get much higher than it is.

Hm, wow. I know those bridges are in need of a tune up. Wasnt there a lot of political crap with the stillwater one? Oh well, lets hope that they re-look at the bridges, and maybe build that new one they neglected now.

most of those 20-30 are probably dead. i mean they are missing in the ****ing river...
thats unfortunate though, cities need to get their **** together and fix **** when it needs fixed. glad i dont live up there, traffic is going to be horrid the next few days

damn.. I just watched that live leek footage... oh my god...
The humanity of it... its going to be 30 - 40 dead.. and I bet some will never be found but are buried under tons of bridge debris.
awful.. just ****ing awful
watching it critically... no puffs of orange/black smoke or anything that could be construed as a demolition charge. I hope it wasn't terrorist activity, kind of a weird place for it, but you have to think of those things. Looks like the near span gave out and then the whole thing let loose.
